Positive: The compound is nice, one could walk, run watch the Majestic Nile flow. My cleaner was an awesome person, very smiling and took care of my stuff like she knows me. I loved the Sunday Congolese Live Band.

Negative: Maybe the staff assumed I was familiar with the place, so they didn’t give me much briefing about access codes, facilities locations etc.

Summary: I enjoyed my stay at Afex. The facilities are great and the riverfront views are stunning.

Positive: Lovely property by the river, and you can see the half sunken ship from the restaurant. Even though my "room" was a container, it did not feel like that at all! Comfortable spacious room, hot shower, good wifi, a mini fridge as well. The staff were friendly and helpful, I could check in the morning. The restaurant is nice too, probably a bit overpriced (but its Juba, and not a lot of options nearby). The (included) breakfast was adequate as well, served buffet style with an omlette/pancake station. You can walk to the Konyo market. Overall, very recommended.

Negative: As other reviews have pointed out, the drainage in shower needs work, water quickly floods the rest of the bathroom and seeps into the room, limiting how long you can leave the shower on. Its a pity really, as the shower otherwise is pretty good!

Positive: This was my second stay at AFEX. I love the lush peace and quiet of the place. The buffet breakfast is delicious.

Negative: Food prices slightly high. I wish they had a discounted rate for single travellers!
