Positive: Our stay at Aether was fantastic. The staff are very friendly and helpful and do everything they can to make your stay unforgettable. For our anniversary, they even arranged a table at Smokes & Bitters, where we were surprised with a dessert made especially for our anniversary.

Positive: I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE… …unless you’re ready to sink into depression afterwards, because nothing in your normal life will ever compare again. This complex has some villas, each with its own private pool. They’re all amazing, but the last one on top – the Superior Villa – is on another planet. Imagine everyone else driving brand-new Toyotas and then someone shows up with a Ferrari. That’s the level. The sea view from up there is not just “nice” — it’s Windows-screensaver-level perfect, but real. Service? Chamara, David and the team make you feel like royalty and invisible at the same time. They solve everything suspiciously fast, keep checking if you’re okay, and still somehow give you absolute privacy. Laundry service? Free. Hospitality? So intense you start wondering if you’re secretly related to them. The villa itself? Unreal. The booking photos are good, but they don’t do it justice. It’s like comparing a bad movie trailer to the film that actually wins the Oscar. Waking up to that ocean view can’t be explained in words (see photo below if you want your lungs to stop working for a second). Honestly, I’ve never stayed anywhere that offered so much attention and so much privacy at the same time. It’s borderline suspicious how perfect it all is. Ah yeah, the only place I could actually download an app while connected to wi-fi (from what I've experienced so far in Sri Lanka) :D In short: Don’t book this place — unless you’re okay with every other holiday in your life feeling like a badly organized school camp. P.S. : Suzi is a sweetheart 🐶

Positive: We chose this place strictly for the plunge pool and sea views, and were amazed by it all! Our mornings were spent soaking in the sunrise with coffee as the peacocks and langurs added themselves to the mix. The property is located close to beaches, restaurants and the famous smoke and britters, which is down the road from the same. David and Chamara, along with the rest of the team were available almost 24*7. All of our tiny queries/needs (activity, food and transportational options) were catered to with highest standard of professionalism and efficiency. Special mention to Lucy who gets spoiled with belly rubs all day, loving addition to the entire experience.

Negative: Wish we had more days to spend here.

Summary: I would skip beach clubs and isolated 5 star resorts to stay here, best spot in Hiriketiya.

Positive: It’s a fantastic place, new, modern, very spacious, with large terrace. Walk to Hiriketiya takes 10 minutes, with tuk tuk or scooter about 3 minutes. It’s perfect distance, it’s still close to surfing and restaurants, while remote enough to be very quiet and relaxing. Amazing restaurant/ bar “Smokes and bitters” is just downhill, maybe 1 minute walk.

Negative: Nothing, everything was great :)

Positive: We booked this property last minute and thought the pictures were too good to be true.. upon arriving we realised it was better! The views from the room are out of this world! We stayed I. The highest villa which has the best vantage point but think the view from all the villas would be stunning. The location is great, right above smoke and bitters (which the host helped us get a table at with no reservation) and 30 seconds walk from Dickwella beach. We hired a scooter which was great but also walking distance everywhere you need to do. The host (David) and all his staff are so friendly snd helpful - they arranged a scooter hire within 2 mins, gave us the best reccomendations for restaurants and even did our laundry! We couldn’t recommend the property more highly.

Positive: Amazing place, pretty, luxerious and the best location. David and his team are super nice and respond to any wishes quickly. We had an exceptional stay, cannot recommend this place highly enough!! Dickwella beach is the best beach , as Hiriketiya became very busy, but you’re still just 10mins walk from the action and nice restaurants. From the villa it’s literally just 3 mins to the beach walking. Can highly recommend!

Positive: We absolutely loved our stay here. We were the first people to stay in the top villa and it was sensational! Honestly think it boasts the highest and best view in the area - we woke up to panoramic views of Dickwella Beach and could enjoy a sunset or sunrise swim in the plunge pool with this view. Location was perfect - 2 minutes to Dickwella beach and about 5 minutes into Hiriketiya. The villa also had a TukTuk ready and available should we not want to walk. Dave the host went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing stay. Wifi worked well too - I was working remotely and was able to stream a number of zoom calls with no issues. Honestly couldn't fault this place - would definitely stay here again!
