The Suite
A beautiful small stone house, located 300 meters from the historical hamlet of Abbadia Isola where you can find the abbey with the same name, built in the year 1000 on the via Francigena, a restaurant and wine bar. Continuing 2km by foot on the antique via Francigena, you come to the Castle of Monteriggioni, whose suggestive outlines can also be seen from the house.
Swimming Pool
In the large garden with a grass field in the English style, protected by high hedges, lies the swimming pool, surrounded by fruit trees (plums, cherries, pears, apples, walnuts) and many ornamental plants. The pool, which is for the exclusive use of the guests of the house, is 11 meters long and 5 meters with, with a depth of 1.20-2.00 meters, with optimal water quality, and a diving board. It is illuminated from the inside for stimulating night swims.
Next to the pool is an external shower and a pergola, shaded by climbing plants, with a table and chairs, sun chairs and loungers. The whole area is covered by wifi.

The house is partially surrounded by a covered porch where you can find a table and chairs for an outdoor lunch or relaxing reading sessions.
Inside, there is a large living room on two levels, a couch corner with TV, SAT, hifi, bookcase e fireplace, an eating area with a large table, and an area upstairs with a double sofa bed from which you can se the city walls of Monterigginio through the two windows.
Comfort
The kitchen, accessible directly from the porch, is equipped with microwave, convection oven, dishwasher, freezer, fridge, table and closet with washing machine, as well as a functioning portable barbecue.
The first bedroom has a comfortable double bed, a dresser and a large wardrobe; the other bedroom has another confortable double bed, french doors, desk with PC and printer, the downstairs bathroom has a shower and the bathroom on the first floor has a bathtub.
Francigena
The little house is on the via Francigena, the antique pilgrimage road toward the holy land, recently resurfaced and connected to several medieval centers.
One can make excursions on foot or by bicycle on the paths marked by the C.A.I. (Club Alpino Italiano), over which our guest will have detailed maps.

The little house is strategically positioned also for outings by car since it is located only 2 km from the highway interchange Firenze-Siena, on which you can easily reach Siena in 15 minutes, Florence in 30 minutes, San Gimignano in 20 minutes, Volterra in 40 minutes, Pienza in 40 minutes, and splendid typical villages of the Tuscan countryside, such as Radicondoli, Casole d’Elsa, Menano, San Galgano, Montecastelli, etc.

Summary: Lovely villa, which was very well maintained and peaceful. We particularly loved the various outside seating areas, the pool and the garden with views of the castle. Walking up to Monteriggioni was very easy, if a bit hot and sweaty! Nice having a few restaurants within walking distance. Very easy for sight seeing.

Summary: Had a wonderful stay at Carlo’s beautiful house. Carlo was very helpful and always on call to answer any questions. He recommended an excellent garage close by when we had a puncture and they repaired the tyre for €10 immediately. We had a few challenges with the internet which was not always stable when on meetings.

Summary: We would like to thank Carlo for great hospitality and chance to stay in beautiful place in perfect house. House is situated in very calm place in walking distance from Via Francigena and from very old monastery. Nice little medieval town Monteriggioni is only 10 minutes driving, Siena is only 0.5 hour driving. Access to highway is very easy and simple. House is very pleasant to look at and household is very well organized. All facilities function very well. Thank you very much, Carlo, for excellent week!

Summary: The Suite is a lovely house, beautifully decorated and furnished and thoughfully equipped. The grounds and pool are gorgeous and perfect for just spending time, relaxing and enjoying the scenery. There are so many interesting places within a 30 minute drive and we'd certainly recommend walking to Monteriggioni along the Via Francigena.

Summary: We were very sad to leave this beautiful place in a most beautiful spot in this world. Carlo was so helpful when we had a serious transportation problem. Do not visit here without a car as we did! It is a short 3 mile or so drive into Monteriggione where both train and bus service are abundantly available, but getting there and back was problematic and renting a car on the spur of the moment very expensive so be prepared for that complication and book ahead if you do not have your own car. We used the train service from 3 mile away Monteriggione to access Florence, Pisa, anywhere you want to go for an easy and very inexpensive ride. Other than transportation , our stay was wonderful.. with an ancient village..established late 10th and early 11th century..directltly across the road..the Montereggioni castle easily accessible and a great place to visit, shop and eat..the arms museum there was great and hands on and our grandchildren loved it! Also wine tasting at a vinyard we easily walked to was a delightful afternoon in a beautiful setting. We cant wait to go back. Our grandchildren loved the large yard complete with pigeon cages and their pretty cooing sounds to wake up to each morning. . Thank you so much for your kindness in getting us back to deliver the rental car, Carlo. We will always remember your generosity!

Summary: We had a wonderful week and really enjoyed the stay and the hospitality of Carlo and Sylvia. The house is perfectly located, and very cozy and homely furnished. The garden is huge and carefully maintained. The view from the terrace and also from the windows on the city walls of Monteriggione is magnificent!
