A beautiful Craftsman house equipped with all the comforts of home. The house is fully furnished and has all to make your stay as relaxing as possible. The kitchen is well equipped, however, walking to "downtown Clarinda" with various restaurants is less than 3 blocks away. There is room for everyone to have their own space, but also larger rooms where all can gather. Places to exercise, socialize, or create. Swing on the front porch and watch the world pass by or enjoy the large backyard.
Enjoy the formal living room or recline in the comfort of the family TV room. Cook and dine in the spacious practical kitchen, have a backyard picnic, or feast at the large dining table. The butler's pantry now serves as a sunlit, cozy hideaway. The upstairs sunroom can be utilized as either an office or an extra bedroom. Four large bedrooms, each with its own closet, fill the upstairs along with an easily accessible bathroom. The large room in the basement can easily serve as an exercise room, playroom, or arts and craft room.

Summary: Our family enjoyed our stay at Green Acres. We loved the location that was within walking distance to the beautiful town square with quiet porch sitting views. This home has beautiful wood work details with plenty of space for the family. Would definitely want to visit Green Acres again.

Summary: Stayed in Clarissa to watch my son play summer baseball with the Clarinda A’s. What a wonderful town and the Green Acres property was perfect! Close to the necessary things. A great place to slow down life. Our week in Clarinda was made easy as the property owner was accessible. The home was very nostalgic but had some modern amenities. There was some dust and little bit of a musty smell but that is likely due to the age of the house. We had clean linens, towels etc. cleaning supplies were provided as well! It was a slice of heaven for a week!

Summary: This is a great old home in a quiet neighborhood. The bed was extremely comfortable, the front porch a dream with a bench swing and tables.... a great place to eat dinner while watching thunderstorms in the spring. Wi-fi worked great and was fast. There are lots of comfy spaces to curl up and read a book, nap, or just daydream. Wonderful art everywhere. It feels like you are in a solid, warm hug when you stay here. And the hosts are wonderful people who are communicative and care about you. Who could ask for more?

Summary: We grew up in Clarinda in the 70s. We wanted to come back and relive childhood memories. We had the best time. The house was perfect. Plenty of room for all 7 of us. Very clean and in a great location. We walked downtown everyday. We would definitely stay again. Great experience.

Summary: Once you mount the stairs on any entry door to the property you are greeted with a lovely turn of the 20th century home with charm. We would love to see the home receive more of the historical TLC that it deserves, because it is beautiful and has so much potential! Green Acres misses a 5 star rating at the moment since some attention to the water pressure would be best. The pressure simply cannot meet the need of starting the dish washer or laundry and taking a 2nd floor shower at the same time which is mildly problematic. However, with little doubt, this will be seen to as well as other updates throughout as the basement bathroom has already received a superb remodel!

Summary: We had a comfortable stay and the decor and furniture were very nice. Kitchen and linens were well stocked. Kids loved the front porch swing. The new basement bathroom is lovely and was used by all. We did have 4 issues. 1. No live TV makes staying in unenjoyable. 2. The kitchen rugs were stained and filthy. 3. Most importantly, there is no hand railing on bottom stair section going down to basement. This caused slips several times. 4. No light to see on bottom stair or into basement.
