This picturesque, terraced, late-Georgian house, sitting in the heart of the beautiful village of Wenhaston, is an ideal retreat, particularly for walkers, music lovers and bird watchers. Flint Cottage combines charm and character with comfort and convenience. The cosy sitting room features a wood burning stove while the light and airy double bedroom upstairs overlooks the property’s pretty patio garden.
Wenhaston, set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, inland from Southwold, Dunwich and Walberswick, is close to the RSPB’s Minsmere nature reserve – the location of BBC Springwatch. Wenhaston is the starting point for numerous walks along the coast or inland along the River Blyth to Halesworth and Blythburgh and is convenient for music lovers attending the Latitude Festival at Henham Hall and the Aldeburgh Festival and Snape Proms.
The Star and Queens Head pubs are both just a few minutes’ walk from Flint Cottage, serving home cooked meals and fine Suffolk ales.
Located opposite the cottage is the fine medieval church of St Peters, a church famous for the Wenhaston Doom, a superb medieval painting depicting the Biblical Day of Judgement.

Summary: Pretty little cottage with everything you need for a weeks holiday. It was very clean and lovely and warm. The garden is elegant and well cared for. The stairs could be a problem for older people. All in all a perfect retreat.

Summary: All efficiently booked by Suffolk Hideaways and 'Flint Cottage' a lovely well appointed property. However although payment in full demanded one month in advance we were allowed to move in with owners aware of electrical problems, in fact they advised of same as we arrived and moved in and that due repairs depended upon delivery of replacement parts. We tolerated four days of erratic cold or just warm water supply without kitchen and bathroom facilities, and indeed multiple visits of electricians and plumbers who seemed unable to resolve matters. After four days, only as it became available, we moved to 'Nil Desperandum' another of the owners properties and were very comfortable thereon. Regrettably the owners showed little care, concern or urgency with our situation and refused any compensatory arrangement. In the event Suffolk Hideaways have sympathetically dealt with us and seen to our compensation and satisfaction. Top marks for Suffolk Hideaways but beware this owner.

Summary: We had COVID but were still allowed to go. Self-catered completely. Ideal venue for walk to Blythburgh on Easter Sunday, bird watching in Minsmere to hear bitterns booming, windy in Southwold, but lovely fresh fish. Framingham Castle ramparts on our way home. Narrow twisted stairs not suitable for everyone and low sink in kitchen.

Summary: WOW What a little gem flint cottage is. Well equipped kitchen. Cosy wood burner. Plenty of walks for you and your four legged friend. Local village store was very friendly. Perfect holiday will be booking again.

Summary: We had a very pleasant week in Flint Cottage and it is ideally placed to explore the eastern part of Suffolk including the coastline. The village of Wenhaston is quiet and has good access to all the surrounding areas of interest, Minsmere RSPB Reserve, Dunwich, Southwold and Aldeburgh. We had a couple of tasty, hearty evening meals at the Star Inn which is only 5-10 mins walk away and would recommend them too.

Summary: This cottage has been beautifully restored and was extremely comfortable and well fitted out. Lots of dog walks around the village and good eating places within easy reach. Good centre for visiting the nearby costal towns and villages
