The Solway Coast which is only 4 miles away has a lovely beach with long walks with paths along the coast great for dog walkers then relax and grab an ice cream or head too the local pub for a meal in allonby or visit silloth and Mayport two off the harbour towns on the solway coast with coffee shops, cafés, pubs takeaways and supermarkets or venture into the north lakes keswick only 14 miles away which has lots outdoor stuff to do with two lakes bassethwaite and derwent water in the area great for water activities paddle boarding ,swimming ,canoeing this property is next door too other cottages great for big family/friends get togethers. These include Halls Bank Farm ref 1319 sleeps 8 , Berwyn Bank ref 15825 sleeps 12 , Beckside (ref 17926) sleeps 2 all on the same site . The market town of Cockermouth is 6 miles, Keswick 14 miles and Buttermere 12 miles. Bassenthwaite Lake, 6 miles. Private fishing on the River Ellen for salmon and trout, 1 mile (free of charge). Summary: Great place for our family to stay and enjoy being together with plenty to do. We had a few issues with the plumbing (leaks). Reported to owner who was going to look into the problem but not while we were staying there. It didn't spoil the stay. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Summary: Came here for a long weekend to celebrate my daughter’s 30th birthday with family and friends. We absolutely loved it - access to the pool was quite restricted but it worked fine for us. Only issue was that the wi-if wasn’t working when we were there which, with a family of teens - caused a little unrest, however, would totally recommend and come back again!

Summary: We loved our stay at Berwyn bank. The house and facilities are wonderful and Carol will do anything she can to make your stay as comfortable as possible, nothing is too much to ask. We would definitely love to come back!

Summary: Had a great time at Berwyn Bank, perfect for family get togethers, loved the use of the Hot Tub and Swimming Pool. The Cottage is very well equipped for family use.

Summary: We stayed here as a family of 12. The hot tub is a great idea at only £30.00 for the weekend. The nearest pub was 2 miles walk serving fabulous food. (Masons Arms). The cottage was beautiful & the family enjoyed the swimming pool & the pony & pig in the gardens/farm. The only thing I would mention is to take a tea towel/pot towel as we only had one & we were there for 3 nights & also there were a few cobwebs over the cooker hood which weren`t very appealing so we didn't cook until we had cleaned it. In all, a lovely cottage & would definitely recommend.

Summary: This is our 6th year here. There is a group of 11 of us who spend the weekend together to celebrate Christmas. We have noticed there is some parts of the cottage looking tired now and needing up dating. It dosnt stop us having a fantastic time together.
