5 Bedroom House in Hinton, Dyrham

Cotswell House is a detached 5 bedroom luxury family home set in an acre of enclosed gardens in the village of Dyrham, home to the National Trust property, Dyrham Park.
The main attraction is the INDOOR HEATED swimming pool accessed from the study, which can be seen from both the fully equipped kitchen and family sitting room. Adjacent to the pool is the changing area which not only includes a full sized shower and utility room, but a compact 2 person sauna. The pool room has a large screen TV with Sky Q access, cosy seating area, perfect for a lazy afternoon and 3 additional chairs for a quiet coffee while the kids are swimming.
There are 5 double bedrooms each with luxury 600tc linens, feather duvets, feather bed toppers and pillows. One upstairs bedroom has an air conditioning unit.
There is a family bath room with full sized bath, shower and WC; an ensuite shower room and WC to the downstairs master suite and a further shower and WC in the changing area for the pool. There is a separate WC also on the ground floor
There is a fully equipped kitchen with an American style fridge freezer, ceramic hob, 2 wall mounted ovens and a microwave, as well as all the appliances required. There is large dining table with seating for 10 as well as a patriotic leather 2 seat sofa in the dining area next door to the kitchen.
The family sitting room has comfortable sofas and an inset Jotul wood burning fire, as well as a TV and Blu ray player with Sky Q access.
The home cinema has a inch screen TV with sound bar, Blu-ray player and Sky Q, as well as an apple TV connector. There is a vast collection of Blu-ray discs, DVDs and CDs. The large black out blinds can easily be enclosed for the full cinema experience, or when not in use, can be opened to give a glorious view over the pond outside.
The enclosed garden has a large patio area with a table, chairs and a gas barbecue. There is a second table and chairs over looking the large pond which is perfect for lazy breakfasts and evening cocktails. There are loungers with cushions and a hammock for an afternoon snooze. The pond is a haven for wildlife and is fully enclosed; it is home to wild ducks and moor hens, the occasional king fisher and even, for a while, a family of wild otters.
LOCATION: The Georgian City of Bath is a mere 8 miles away with its World Heritage status architecture, ancient Roman Baths, eclectic mix of shops and world class theatre and cinemas. Equidistant is the vibrant city of Bristol with the breath taking Clifton Suspension Bridge, historic SS Great Britain (both designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel), world famous University and far ranging mix of shops in the new Cabot Circus, as well as world class restaurants and nightlife.

For the equestrians, Cotswell House is a few miles from the Badminton Estate, home to the world class Horse Trials; a short journey from Cheltenham Race course, home to the world renowned Cheltenham Gold Cup Festival and minutes from Bath’s own race course at Lansdowne. For Rugby lovers the home grounds of Bath RFU, Bristol RFU and Gloucester RFU are a short distance away, and the Millenium Stadium at Cardiff is about an hour away. Whereas, if you are cricket lovers, Somerset County Cricket ground is a short journey away, home to County games as well as International matches of all formats.

The City of Bath has an extensive Arts culture with festivals throughout the year and for those who want to party, the world famous Glastonbury Music Festival and WOMAD festivals are on your doorstep

Summary: Luxurious property which we loved - we plan to go again. Kids enjoyed the pool which is a good size and, importantly, warm. Plenty of space inside; well equipped kitchen, nicely furnished. Large outdoor space and a wildlife pond. We were very happy with our stay.

Summary: My family spent a week at Cotswell house and had the best time. The house is big enough to section off. My adult children and grandchildren took the upstairs while us older grandparents had the bottom floor. There are two reception rooms with large tv’s so again we were able to watch tv at leisure. The grandchildren especially enjoyed the large dvd collection of movies, the sweet dollhouse, the beautiful grounds where they played, and most of all the large pool. The house is exceptional and works so well for a family. The owner gave as a thorough overview of the house and everything went smoothly during our stay. One of our rental cars had a dead battery and the owner came over to jump our car! We made lasting memories at Cotswell House. I highly recommend family stays here.

Summary: The property had everything you needed and more. Kate also provided us with supplies which were very much appreciated. The swimming pool in particular was well used. The property had plenty of space and the garden and pond provided us with a lot of nature watching. Very peaceful and restful place to stay but not far from places to visit.

Summary: This is a lovely spacious house and ideal for a multi-generational family holiday. The swimming pool is a good size and also has a TV! This is a great bonus when dealing with uncertain British weather. We received an excellent welcome from our hosts who have equipped the house very thoughtfully and thoroughly and who provided plentiful supplies of the basics- tea, coffee, milk, bread, butter, jam, eggs, wine, cooking oil, salt, pepper, spices etc etc. There was also plenty of entertainment available apart from the swimming pool - TVs in cinema room and sitting room and loads of DVDs + access to subsciption services and loads of books and games. The only downside was that one of the downstairs bedrooms is off the lounge and has no outside windows - this might make some people feel a little claustrophobic. We didn't need to use this room and it would probably be fine with the door to the sitting room left open. All in all I would thoroughly recommend this house for a family holiday.

Summary: Our family of four stayed in this wonderful house during the exceptionally hot summer week of 2021! The house was perfect as the lovely garden sitting areas and awesome inside pool meant we switched off and hung out for the first time in who knows how long. Hours spent reading in hammocks or by the pool were combined with swimming sessions (being able to put on music thorugh the poolside Sonos was great) and then movie nights with the two large TVs, extensive Bluray collection and full SKy TV. The layout of the house is quirky but great, in a huge U shape around the inside pool room, means a family can be together or find very separate 'wings' to do their own thing. The house is located in a nice, quiet piece of countryside and handy for Bath etc, although to be honest we only went out to the two very good nearby pubs for meals! The owners were fabulous and ever so responsive. Thoroughly recommend.
