Surrounded by magnificent scenery, rugged glens and sea lochs, there are plenty of historic castles and beautiful gardens to explore. Kilmartin Glen is steeped in history and rich in archaeological and historical remains. The small villages of Ardfern and Craobh Haven offer some of the best marina facilities in Scotland. Sea-fari excursions from Seil Island, across the famous Atlantic Bridge, offer high adventure boat trips to the famous Corryvreckan Whirlpool. Nearby Oban, known as the seafood capital of Scotland, has a variety of shops, a leisure centre and a very good selection of restaurants. From Oban there are regular ferries to the Inner Isles, including Mull, Iona, Staffa, Kerrera and Lismore. The area is exceptional for wildlife watching and is a hot spot for porpoise, dolphins, minke whales and basking sharks. Bird watching highlights include sea eagles, golden eagles and puffins, wild otters, seals, and deer are also often seen. There are plenty of walks and outdoor activities with horse riding, fishing, cycling, golf and a variety of watersports to name but a few. Shop and café 20 yards, pub and restaurant 100 yards.

Summary: The property is well located for exploring the area around Oban and out to the Western Isles. Great walks locally and immediate access to pub and village shop - literally steps away. Great comfort, space and facilities in the house to create a real atmosphere, Plenty of garden and parking space. Ideal for an extended family or group of friends.

Summary: I don't think the photos do this house justice, every area is very clean and well-equipped. The carpets are all new and clean and bathrooms (2 ensuite, 1 general bathroom and downstairs toilet) were very nice. There is a TV with freeview downstairs and in 2 of the bedrooms. (We couldn't get 1 to work but sure it's easily fixed.) There is also a small garden. I can't find any fault with this house, except to suggest a tumble drier would be useful. The area is beautiful, very peaceful with hills and a Loch within walking distance. We had a really lovely stay here in this lovely house and area and would love to come back.

Summary: Really nicely decorated and comfortable upstairs. Living area downstairs a bit basic, furniture could do with a bit of an update. Kitchen equipment good. Summary: We very much enjoyed our stay at Cuil Lodge. The accommodation was spacious and well-equipped. As a group of six adults, we appreciated having 3 bathrooms. The local pub/restaurant served excellent food and drinks. The drive to Oban wasn't too long and was along a beautiful road. The wider area was lovely.
