Summary: Lovely place, kind and welcoming host. Clean and well kept, and peefect for what we needed, which was to be within close walking distance of the cit centre and colleges. Grateful for the loan of an umbrella as it rained heavily while we were there!

Summary: Spent a wonderful couple of days at 40 winks hotel. Room was very comfortable, great location for walking around Durham. Breakfast was excellent, freshly cooked and served hot. Will definitely return. All staff very friendly and welcoming.

Summary: What a gem of a place, ideal location, gorgeous views, super comfortable room and really friendly staff. One of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve had. It’s so nice to stay somewhere with so much character, if you’re going to Durham, stay here.

Summary: Absolutely loved our stay at 40 Winks, the room was so beautiful with a gorgeous view of the Cathedral. It felt romantic, relaxing and special. Only a 5-10 minute walk to get to the main attractions and lots of food options. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful, I would absolutely recommend this property to anyone staying in Durham.
