Positive: Well equipped. Decorated for Christmas.

Negative: No handrail of any description from the first floor to the second floor. This meant that after going to look at the 2nd bedroom, I never went up there again. The staircase was typical for an old cottage, and without a handrail I felt very unsafe. We knew in advance it was a spiral style of staircase. There was a handrail from the ground floor to the first floor so it wouldn’t have looked out of place to have a wooden or even a rope handrail. There was no warning that the best way to use the parking space was to back the car past the other cottages and round a limited space at the end. I am a confident driver but some people might find it challenging and may choose to park out on the main road instead.

Positive: Convenient and comfortable. Nicely furnished and equipped. Good location opposite a pub and short walk from a cafe, shop and other pubs

Negative: the carpet was in a poor state and had had a psych repair done on it. there were no bin bags left to dispose the dirty bedding so I left the linen on the landing. the garden furniture was broken and needs replacing

Positive: A cosy, well maintained, clean and comfortable cottage. It was well furnished and beds were comfortable. There was a lovely goodie basket with some treats to keep us happy after some long walks. It has easy access to Downton and some fantastic local walks.

Negative: Traffic noise from early in the morning was a downside.

Positive: Charming terraced cottage very well fitted out with all new appliances. Many original features with 2 good sized double bedrooms.

Negative: We liked it all however for some people the steep stairs may be difficult. Car parking for 2 cars but access tricky for a nervous driver.
