A pub renowned for serving excellent food is available in the village. Embleton is only a couple of miles south where there are more pubs, a village shop and its own stretch of golden sands. Heading 4 miles north is the popular holiday village of Beadnell where its golden sweeping sands are popular with water sport enthusiasts, offering wind surfing, diving and sea kayaking. The traditional fishing port of Seahouses is a short drive up the coastline, where boat trips to the nearby Farne Islands, famous for its bird sanctuaries and seal colony, depart regularly from its harbour.
Take time to visit the picturesque village of Bamburgh where its dramatic castle is an impressive visitor attraction. A few miles inland is the historic market town of Alnwick where its own castle is the home to the Duke of Northumberland. Summary: Five adults stayed at Driftwood Cottage and we very, very happy with everything about it! We love a British beach in winter and with a large, virtually deserted one just a couple of minutes away it was heaven. Our post Christmas cobwebs were well and truly blown away. The cottage itself was spacious, clean, well equipped and warm. Perfect for a few days of winter relaxing. We would definitely go again. Thank you.

Summary: Wonderful accommodation with everything we needed. Loved the decking area and use of grass area for adults and kids. The swing park and football pitch were an added bonus too! Even though there were a few peacocks, the whole place was so peaceful and quiet and the owners and staff couldn't have been more welcoming. Two minute walk from an incredible beach and plenty of walks to do. We also weren't far from nearby towns for any day-trips away. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back for another family holiday. Thank you!
