The historic market town of Hexham, dominated by its majestic abbey, offers an abundance of amenities only 12 miles east or travel an extra 20 minutes to sample the vibrant city of Newcastle or try a little retail therapy at the world renowned Metro Centre. The Cumbrian border is close by; Carlisle is only 25 miles west, therefore making it a superb base for those seeking to explore the historic charms of Northumberland coupled with the magnificent Lakeland Fells.

Summary: A traditional cottage with everything you need for a comfortable stay in the heart of Northumbria. It is ideally located for some of the most scenic spots on Hadrian's wall including sycamore gap, Housesteads and Walltown crags. The cottage is adjacent to the owners cottage and they are very helpful if you need anything or are looking for some advice. Summary: We had a superb stay in the Old Brewery Cottage which is perfectly located for both peaceful relaxation "at home" & for exploring the surrounding area. The spotless cottage is fully equipped down to every last detail. As for the "Welcome Pack" of homemade cake, scones, jam, milk, wine, fresh fruit & fresh flowers - wow! Also must mention Jacqueline's tasty homemade quiche - made to order for us & we enjoyed it sitting out on our private patio area on a peaceful evening looking out on her beautiful gardens.
