Built in the late 18th century, Puffin Cottage was originally a cow shed, part of a working farm at Ballacross.. All on ground floor.

Built in the late 18th century, Puffin Cottage was originally a cowshed, part of a working farm at Ballacross. The comfortable bedrooms each feature full-length mirrors. This detached holiday property was in regular use until 1999 when the farm buildings ceased to be of any practical use in modern farming. Ballacross is set in 124 acres, and the cowshed was renovated to provide holiday accommodation in 2015. The name ‘Puffin Cottage’ was chosen because Peel is one of the few places on the Isle of Man where puffins can be regularly seen as they nest on the steep cliffs of Peel Hill, a short distance away. Take a stroll into Peel where you will find plenty of pubs and restaurants. Peel is the ideal spring board to explore the Isle of Man. In the evenings after a day of enjoying yourself you can sit on the patio with your favourite tipple and watch the sun setting. Beach 1 mile. Shop ¾ mile, pub ½ mile and restaurant 1 mile.

Summary: On arrival we were met by the owner who made us welcome. A welcome hamper with bread, cheese, wine, tea bags, coffee and scones was provided. The cottage was very well equipped, clean and very comfortable. Alan, the owner, allowed us to store our motorbike in his garage which was great. Highly recommend.

Summary: We staying at Puffin Cottage for 2 weeks during the TT races, the cottage is amazing. Exceptionally clean. Beds were comfy, towels fluffy, every need was catered for. There was a lovely welcome pack on arrival which was a lovely touch. Location was great, we were able to walk into Peel which has lovely beaches and restaurants. Would definitely rate this property 10 out of 10. Look forward to returning in the future.

Summary: It was as close to heaven as I have been. Didn’t know what to expect and when I got there it was a wow moment like new sooo clean loverly showers comfy beds. I will be looking to go back when I can truly magnificent.

Summary: Where to start. From the delicious welcome pack, friendly, welcoming hosts. Wonderful surrounding countryside. Nearest town Peel, wonderful restaurants and pubs serving delicious food, especially “The Creek”. Also Davison’s Ice Cream Parlour is a must visit. Lost count of the flavours. Also the Isle of Man itself, a jewel in the Irish Sea. Will definitely be visiting again, and would be sorely disappointed if Puffin Cottage was not available. Thoroughly recommended

Summary: The best meet and greet we’ve had any where enhanced by a small hamper of local goodies and basics in the fridge. Exactly as described and the views added to the experience. Even the weather assisted our enjoyment of the holiday but had it rained I’m sure we would have still been snug and at home in Puffin Cottage!
