Grasmere village is a short stroll away and offers a good selection of interesting tea shops and galleries as well as a co-op store and an excellent bakery for everyday provisions.

Summary: Beautifully located,well equipped and cosy cottage. Let down by hot water system. Cottage sleeps 4 yet only enough hot water for one bath. Summary: As a family of four with two young children, we had a great week at 3 Townhead Cottage. The location, approx 1.5 miles from Grasmere suited us perfectly. Fells are on your doorstep, there is a back garden and the kids enjoyed seeing the farm animals. The town is easily accessible but we felt we were sufficiently far away from the daily bustle. The small kitchen was sufficient for us as we weren’t planning any lavish meals and the Nespresso machine a welcome accessory. Summary: Location is wonderful, surrounded by fells enabling easy access to many footpaths. Bus stop nearby. 20 minute walk to Grasmere on quiet lanes. 10 minutes to travellers’ rest pub - food excellent. Farm next door sells eggs. Towels were provided. Will definitely go again.
