1 Bedroom House in Buggiano

Apartment inserted in a "Mill of the seventeenth century" in rustic style with stone walls and roof beams and wooden currents connected to the "Castle of the hill" with the street "Delle Mulina". A village where time seems to have stopped. narrow streets and small paths to discover
Choose to stay in the green, away from smog and traffic, yet within walking distance of some of the most beautiful historical and tourist destinations in Italy and then look for a protected place, on a human scale, linked to the land, to its history and to its traditions to rediscover its essence, its reasons: these are the reasons that can bring you here.
Buggiano Castello is a jewel of Italian architectural heritage.
A few minutes from Montecatini and only fifty kilometers from Florence, it still preserves its original appearance: a medieval stone agglomeration whose first buildings date back to the eleventh century.
Along the perimeter walls of the house flows the Cessana torrent that winds through an area that is remarkable for its vegetation and the shape of bumps and weirs, such as the "Bozzo Della Madonna", it is possible to have a nice cooling bath in the natural pools and waterfalls formed thanks to to the stream that runs along the walls of the mill among the vegetation. It is also possible to have breakfast with fresh eggs and different types of homemade jams. In front of the house there is a large green field with olives where it is possible to organize outdoor games with children. It is easy to reach two medieval castles Buggiano Castello and Colle di Buggiano, reachable on foot in 10 minutes. Visiting the small village and savoring all its ancient atmosphere, the only noise you hear is that of your steps on the stone roads traveled for more than a thousand years of history. Right on the top of the hill is the little square where the Palazzo Pretorio overlooks, dating back to the thirteenth century, inside which you can admire some fifteenth-century frescoes. Next to the building is the church of San Nicolao which, built in 1038, still preserves a rich artistic heritage.
Detto Mulino is 30 minutes from Florence, Pisa, the seaside resorts of Forte dei Marmi and Viareggio, famous for its Carnival. 20 minutes from Lucca, Pistoia and Prato. 60 minutes from the Abetone ski resort. At 5 minutes there is "Montecatini Terme". Thermal waters are the treasure of Montecatini, around them were built real thermal establishments. Nine establishments can be used for various treatments: Excelsior, Redi, Grocco, La Salute, Leopoldine, Regina, Tamerici, Tettuccio, Torretta. The Waters of the Terme di Montecatini carry out most of their activity at the level of the liver and the digestive system. Terme di Montecatini presents a complete offer of thermal treatments (from mineral water treatments to mud therapy and balneotherapy mud, from inhalation therapies to thermal rehabilitation) as a natural response to prevention, rehabilitation and treatment of important pathologies. 10 min from Monsummano Terme - where there is a natural masterpiece, Grotta Giusti. The thousand-year-old, marvelous and intact cave, enclosed between the carbonated rocks that extends from the mountain that shelters it, extends over two hundred meters underground, creating underground labyrinths, decorated with stalactites and stalagmites and spacious caverns. At the bottom of the cavity lies a crystalline mirror of hot thermal waters, which emanate a beneficial and therapeutic vapor. The large vaults in the rock design ideal rooms where to stop for a natural and detoxifying sauna. Abandoning yourself on the couch to reach total relaxation, reassured by the contact with the rock and surrounded by the warmth of the vapors is an exclusive pleasure, the secret that made Grotta Giusti famous. The apartment of 55 m2 consists of a double bedroom, bathroom, kitchenette, dining room with sofa bed and external courtyard. Arranged for four people with additional accessory upon request of a cot or single bed. Independent apartment, but attached to the owners' main house. Entrance to the house in common with independent headquarters. In the garden you will find a 6x3 little fish and a small boat with hydromassage, heated water. INCLUDED IN THE PRICE: all electricity, water, gas and heating consumptions, detergents for washing machine, internet connection, sheets and towels. Private parking. It is also possible to have breakfast with fresh eggs and different types of homemade jams.

Summary: We had a fantastic 3 night stay at the mill. A truly beautiful tranquil setting which was a great respite after having spent the previous nights in Rome and Florence. We also took advantage of Irina's incredible culinary talents and were treated to 2 amazing multi-course feasts in the comfort of the suite and on the patio. Irina is a wonderfully helpful and generous host.

Summary: Irina was the perfect host. Her place is as pictured, beautiful. She is 3/4 of a mile from the train station up the mountain. the river runs through right by her place and you can hear it as you sit out on the patios. She had fresh eggs for me for Breakfast and my last night Irina made a Dinner I will NEVER forget. If you are looking for a place to stay outside a large city and to be able to go by train to Florence, Pisa, Lucca I had no problems

Summary: My husband and I went to Tuscany for our honeymoon and spent the first 8 days here and couldn't have been happier with our decision! The villa is gorgeous, the apartments are cozy, comfortable, private, and look straight out of a magazine! The location is ideal also. We were able to do as many day trips as we wanted to cinque terre, florence, siena for a wine tour, and lucca. Everything was easy access. Most importantly thought, Irina is a superb hostess. She goes above and beyond to not only make you feel at home but also to make you feel at home in Tuscany! Her meals were outstanding and her eagerness to help and assist with anything (she gave us alot of great travel advice) was very appreciated. If you are considering a villa in Tuscany but feel overwhelmed with all the options, definitely go here - you will thoroughly enjoy yourself and won't feel that you are being overcharged for all the services! Beautiful!

Summary: My husband and I visited Italy to celebrate our 20 year anniversary and Tuscany was the 3rd leg of our tour. Irina is a wonderful and welcoming hostess. She went FAR beyond the call of duty to make us feel welcome and make sure we had a great time. The apartment is extremely clean and comfortable. You must ask her to show you the before picture so that you can truly appreciate the work and marvelous outcome she has accomplished on this beautiful property. My husband loves to cook so enjoyed experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen. But we also took a break from cooking and let Irina serve us delicious meals on the back patio while listening to the babbling brook. You can walk to the train in town to get to the major cities but I recommend a car. There is nothing like touring the Tuscan countryside on your own time table. We very much enjoyed our stay. Thank you Irina for a wonderful visit.

Summary: What a great way to end a tour of Tuscany. We stayed here for a week at the end of our vacation. What a fantastic way to recoup and regenerate. We walked down to the the regional train most days and toured several of the towns from Lucca to Pistoia. Irena is a wonderful host and a great cook. We ran into trouble with a regional train strike the last day and she graciously drove us back to Florence so we could catch our flight back home from Rome. The property was very clean and well maintained. The price was also very reasonable. I would recommend staying here without hesitation. I would however recommend a car, unless, like us you don't mind the km walk down into town and back.

Summary: This is a beautiful place with nicely decorated rooms, a small river and very friendly hosts. We enjoyed our stay very much and I would recommend the place any time. We got a very delicious breakfast in the morning and I loved the crepes and the omlette. We went to the sea, spent a day in Florence, Siena, and Pisa which are all in reasonable driving distance. Rating: Excellent!

Summary: Irena and her family were perfect hosts. The accommodation was easily the best during our 3 weeks in Italy. It was traditional and self contained property in a lovely setting with a garden and water mill to the side. Meals can be taken outside whilst listening to the water trickling and the Jasmine smells so sweet. You are free to come and go as you please. It was a great Location for exploring Tuscany. We visited Pisa, Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, Montectini and Lucca. Although we had a car we often used the train as the station is just 1 mile or 1.7km away and the trains are cheap, 11.60 Euros to Florence; the car costs about double in road tolls, petrol and car parking. Breakfast was great, especially if you like sweet crepes, we also had fresh eggs, fruit, yogurts, cheese, ham, bread and coffee. Irena also cooked us dinner on our first night which was the best meal during our whole trip, there was so much food it is too much to list but would definately recommend it! The local village is also worth a visit. The locals are very friendly and there is a small Bar/Gelateria on the corner where we paid 4 Euros for a cappuccino, a large beer and a doughnut !!! Don’t be put off by the old villagers sitting outside as they are very chatty if you know basic Italian. The only issue was this is not the easiest place to find but if your SatNav accepts grid reference then enter 43.893282N, 10.730871E, otherwise head for ‘Borgo A Buggiano’ train station then West 0.3km and North 1.4km. We have no hesitation in recommending this accommodation and hope to return.

Summary: After travelling around the world and being in many different countries, this is one of the best vacation properties anyone could ask for. Irina and her family made us feel right at home and their generosity and hospitality are first class. This was a perfect location for a home base travelling around Italy for the month we spent here, seeing the many sights such as Lucca, Firenze, Pisa, Cinque Terre, Siena, San Gimignano, Viareggio, Borga, Rome and many more. Irina was very knowledgeable and helpful in suggesting sites to visit. On our days off we would walk into town for coffee and supplies from the local markets, the town people were wonderful. The area is great for hiking to local sites like the castello, church and the beautiful views of the valleys or just relaxing on the terrace garden. We highly recommend staying here! Thank-you very much Irina and family you will always remain close to our heart.

Summary: This property exceeded our expectations. Everything was clean and in working order. We used this as our base for a week. Irina helped us schedule our day trips and gave us suggestions for local events and restaurants that she thought we would enjoy. Our day trips included Pistoia, Siena, Monteregioni, San Gimignano, Lucca, Pisa, Cinque Terre. Florence is close but we stayed there after leaving Irina's. On our days off, we would walk into town for espresso then visit the meat market for meat, cheese, fish, and olives(you can't beat the quality). Don't forget the bakery across the street from the meat market, her biscotti are wonderful. There is a grocery store in town too if you need other supplies. If you have time, step into the church in town and walk up to the castello. Beautiful views of the valley from the restaurant SanElena near the castello. We would definitely recommend staying here! It was the most relaxing part of our 17 day trip.

Summary: Very nice place- nicely furnished with paintings everywhere and quite comfortable for 2 people. For us nighttime stay-at-homes the tv selection was the best we had in Italy-even saw an SEC football game one day. Only interior drawback is lack of counter space and headroom in kitchen for 6'2" "Chef". Irina was very helpful and location is convenient to Lucca, Pisa, Firenze, and to other sights. A plus is the fact that it may be rented by the night if a week is too long. The small garden outside the door was nice except for rain & mosquitoes!
