Summary: My wife and I took our children and their families on a two week trip to France in July. My plan was to initially show off Paris, and then expose them to a more relaxed setting while discovering all the charms and beauty of the French campagne. This lovely property did not disappoint. Our group of 13 ranged in age from 15mos to 69 years. All were comfortable. All enjoyed the spacious grounds and the interior. The large, well-appointed kitchen allowed us to have numerous meals en famille. In addition to enjoying the local offerings such as the Chateau and the Parc JJ Rousseau, Ermenonville's location permitted several easy regional day trips which included Chantilly and Epernay. Another benefit of having stayed in Ermenonville was that its 30 - 40 minute proximity to CDG airport effectively added 1 to 1-1/2 days to our trip compared to if we had ventured to other destinations such as Normandie, Bretagne or Provence. The hospitality of our hosts merit special acknowledgment. Our primary on-site interaction was with Henri and Cynthia. The day we checked in, we were surprised to learn that a local restaurant I had planned on taking everyone to for dinner was closed. Cynthia drove me and my wife to a supermarket in the next village, and waited while we shopped for groceries. The next day, she practically insisted that she drive us to fetch our rental cars instead of relying on Uber. I will never forget those singular acts of kindness. Merçi pout tout!
