Positive: The way the original historic sandstone cottage has been retained, with the addition of the living area annex on the back, and the fact that there is adequate provision to keep the whole house warm as required. The appearance of the house, and the simple but effective use of plants in the yard- including some fruit trees - made it feel extra special.

Negative: We were unable to access the second toilet and laundry as the code did not work when tried as directed - access to the second toilet would have been useful with 4 adults and with the main toilet in the same room as shower limiting access to that. We had no way of contacting the host until we had access to the compendium which was inside the house. Lack of cooking trays, a loose bathroom door handle which left someone inside sometimes unable to open the door, and a strange combination of breakfast food supplied in the fridge were also little disappointments.

Summary: We did enjoy our stay in this historic house and would recommend it overall.

Positive: Fantastic historic cottage with sympathetic modern extension provided a perfect overnight stay after a relaxing afternoon at Callington Mill. Kitchen was well appointed and the breakfast supplies much appreciated. Excellent laundry facilities.

Negative: We were travelling as two couples, there is limited couch seating in the small lounge area (however the dining table is just the perfect size for cards and board games!!)

Negative: Access to laundry and second bathroom was inaccessible due to code entry not working. It needs a declutter and complete clean.
