You'll find all of the modern updates to the kitchen and baths in this 2BR 1.5 Bth home but the 1840s charm remains!
Along with the two bedrooms, there is an additional space to sleep on a fold down couch in Den.
We stocked the kitchen with a Thanksgiving meal in mind, so bring your culinary skills!
The porches are the perfect place to watch the world go by with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine.
The location is ideal for making your way to the shops and restaurants on Main Street. Leave your car and walk 8-10 minutes and you are in the heart of the fun!
Grant Park is just across the pedestrian bridge from downtown.
If you are looking to enjoy the outdoors, The river trail is just below Grant Park and you can kayak on the Galena River. There are kayak rental locations near the river. In the winter, there's skiing or hiking at Chestnut Mountain. We've got some brochures in our Welcome Book as well.
History is front and center in Galena-- so whether you check out the homes of President Grant, hop on
the Trolley Tour, visit the Galena History Museum or just walk around the Historic District, you'll feel like a step back in time.

Summary: Charming, property with a great location! Walking distance to Main Street and easy to get to from US 20. There are some steps to climb from the street, so try to pack light! So many cute little touches, a porch swing and rockers, antique phones, comfy beds. We loved our stay, and would stay again!

Summary: The house was great! It was very clean, well stocked and decorated nicely. The beds were very comfortable. The location was ideal. It was close enough to downtown to easily walk, but far enough not to have to deal with parking/noise issues. The host was very nice and easy to work with. I would stay there again.

Summary: Just a short distance from Main Street, the home has updated amenities and was inviting, clean and comfortable with plenty of space for everyone. Sitting on hill, there are quite a few steps from the street parking to the door. It was a very enjoyable trip and would recommend staying here.

Summary: This home is curated with such care and thought. We enjoyed ourselves immensely in this property for a weekend of shopping and friendship. The location is ideal to walk to town. The kitchen has everything you need to cook, or gather. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are adorable. The living area was perfect for sitting with a glass of wine or coffee in the morning with lots of windows and light coming through. We were three 60 year old women and had no problem with the stairs as mentioned in some of the other posts. The host responded immediately and graciously if we had a question. It was delightful.
