Explore the castles, abbeys, mansions and ruins or simply spend a day relaxing on the nearby beach.. 2 steps to entrance. All on the ground floor.
Open plan living space.
Living area: With wood burner, Smart TV and DAB radio.
Dining area.
Kitchen area: With breakfast bar, electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, Nespresso coffee machine and washing machine.
Bedroom: With kingsize bed and en-suite with shower cubicle, toilet and heated towel rail.. Electric heaters, gas, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Initial logs for wood burner included. Travel cot and highchair available on request. Welcome pack. Enclosed courtyard. 2 dogs welcome, to be kept on a lead at all times (small holding). Bike store. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking.. Situated on the outskirts of a quiet village, in the heart of 7Stanes Mountain Biking country, this detached, converted former dairy is set on a small holding and boasts stunning views over open countryside. This holiday cottage is ideally located to explore local history, with castles, abbeys, mansions and ruins. Dumfries and Galloway boasts rugged coastlines and sandy beaches, and is surrounded by breathtaking scenery, offering an ideal base from which to explore the Machars Peninsula and the Galloway Hills. The historic cities of Edinburgh and Carlisle, cosmopolitan Glasgow and the North Lake District are easily reached within an hour. Fishing is available on the River Annan at Hoddom, and there is golfing close by at Hoddom and Powfoot, as well as all the courses Dumfries and Galloway has to offer. Beach 5 miles. Shop 5 miles, pub and restaurant ½ mile.
We happily accept up to two small, or one large dog at £25 per dog per week.
Regrettably we cannot accommodate cats or very long-haired dogs.
There are two steps to the entrance of this property.
Initial fuel for the woodburner included, thereafter available at £6 per basket, this is the main source of heating in the cottage.
The property also benefits from electric heating which warms the rooms up very quickly, please turn these off at night and when the property is empty.
The property uses a sceptic tank; please do not put any sanitary items, face wipes, baby wipes, toilet wipes, cleaning wipes or anything other than toilet tissue into the toilet please.
Pets must be kept on a lead at all times.
Children must be supervised on site due to possible safety hazards.

Summary: We so enjoyed our time at Pleacairn cottage The accommodation is so cosy and has everything you need. Found some lovely walks close by for the dog. Amanda was great said hi when we arrived but left us to our own devices and didn’t intrude in any way. There are so many animals to see, horses, ducks, geese, sheep and goats all on your doorstep. Summary: Beautiful cottage with quality fixtures and fittings. For open plan accommodation it is very spacious and the layout works very well. The newly extended courtyard was ideal to sit out in with our dogs in an evening watching the horses in the field next to us. The welcome pack was really appreciated along with our wedding anniversary gift. The cottage location was ideal for us, within easy reach of the local amenities and some lovely beaches to walk the dogs. Summary: This cottage is ideal for a couple looking for peace and quiet, which is what we were looking for after 4 months of lock-down. Amanda was very helpful on arrival and was there if we had any issues, which we did not. The cottage itself is decorated and equipped to a high standard, the Nespresso machine was a bonus. The rooms were fairly large for a couple and a dog, who was also well catered for. The cottage is quite isolated, which is what we were looking for, local shops at both Annan and Dumfries, a short drive away. We will return as it was a thoroughly enjoyable break. Summary: Very comfortable great little cottage unfortunately the local pub do not allow dogs in think that information should be made available other than that use of the field is very good for the dogs central location I would also suggest that it’s probably not big enough for two large dogs just about the two small dogs eggs were great and the owner is very polite and helpful
