Positive: We stayed in Japan for a month and travelled to Oshima Island for a week staying in this wonderful home. Now that we’ve finished our trip, we can safely say it was our favourite place we stayed on the trip. The view feels like you’re on a ship looking out to sea. The tranquility was wonderful. On one of the days it was clear enough to see Mount Fuji from the house, it was stunning! There would often be many buzzards flying directly above the house. The host was very nice, he really made us feel welcome. This really helped us settle in quickly and know we’re being looked after. We didn’t hire a car which wasn’t a problem as the bus stop is just a couple of minutes walk away from the house. From there we could access most of the island. We really enjoyed the traditional Japanese style of the house. The Futons were comfortable and were perfect for our toddler to sleep next to us. The house has many sliding doors so you can adjust the space to your liking. The kitchen was very well equipped, there was even some salt, pepper, spices etc which most places wouldn’t usually include. This made it easy to cook during our stay without having to buy these bits. The house is just a couple minutes walk to the beach. There is a direct access down some steps so you don’t need to walk / cross any roads. We hope to visit again in the future and do some fishing. Thank you for making our stay so special!

Positive: Very close to the beach and the host was very accommodating and responsive. We very much appreciated the late check out and helpful suggestions on many things including buying Shimpo (discounted cash) and food suggestions
Negative: Unwelcome six and eight legged visitors. Mosquitos easily duck in through the front door so don't linger in the doorway!
