Positive: Great property. With two onsen style baths and a pool there made it easy to enjoy. We wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy hanging out on the deck and use the BBQ and gourmet kitchen. There was plenty of room for our family of 5 to spread out. The property is a short but hilly walk to the Yumoto Hakone station with a number of restaurants close by to enjoy and close to transport to the sites of Hakone.

Negative: Nothing.

Positive: The host met us upon arrival, gave us the door key code and showed us around. The condo itself was immaculate! It had lots of nice amenities like shampoo/condition, soap for the dishwasher and washing machine, clear directions for the kitchen and outdoor appliances, lots of dishes, coffee beans, tea bags, sugar, soy sauce, cream, olive oil and salt and pepper. Beds and the living areas were comfy. Pool, sauna and hot spring hot tub were a delight! There are no restaurants withing a 5 minute walk but when open, a convenience store we used for breakfast supplies, snacks and sake is one door up the hill and a handful of good restaurants after a 10-15 minute walk in down in town. I highly recommend making a reservations as there are limited options open in-town (although we did have a group of 7). Yakiniku Sakae in Hakone is $$ but INCREDIBLE - grill what you order (fish, meat, veggies, etc) in front of you on a hibachi. Wish we could have gotten into Kinosuke but another family grabbed their larger room before us. Also walked down from our place and then alllllll the way up to Gora Brewery Public House in Hakone (not the one in Gora) for great pizzas, beer and salad.

Negative: Taxis are hard to come by in Hakone - especially in the rain - and it was a VERY inclined 15-20 min walk up to get to the lodgings from the train station pulling suitcases and and a wet 10-15 minute walk down on our departure. Same for going out for dinner although we didn't have rain.

Summary: Lovely condo in beautiful mountainous area for those able/willing to walk hills.

Positive: We enjoyed the facilities including the onsen indoor and outdoor bath. The kids enjoyed the pool even though it was not heated. The appliances in the kitchen were top notch, and the covered terrace with grill was a great space to gather for dinner. We ordered the half board plan which came with plenty of food for our group to grill for dinner and breakfast ingredients. It was nice to not have to food shop or go into town for dinner. My nephews thought the villa was the best part of the trip to Hakone! If you needed anything there is a convenience store within walking distance.

Negative: The WiFi was a bit slow in the unit.

Positive: 4ppl stayed with 2 kids 11, 14. The beds were just right, pillows perfect, lots of space, indoor + outdoor onsen, pool + pool toys, 2 bathrooms, very clean. Excellent cooking facilities. Highly recommended 👌 steep 18min walk to get here, but worth it. Very tranquil. Very comfortable. Can't rate it high enough.
