Positive: Everything was amazing and utterly magical! An oasis of tranquility and comfort within the Old City, the suite had everything we needed to enjoy our time in Akko! The kids were quite comfortable on the sofa beds, which already had sheets on them. And the kitchenette was sufficiently stocked with what we needed, including waters and soya milk. Finally, the history and story behind the Sarai is beautiful!! We would definitely stay again, as it rates as one of our top places we have stayed in our lives. Zidane was also super hospitable and helpful with recommendations and anything else we needed.

Positive: The rooms are even nicer than the pictures. Its a very nice place, authentic and decorated. Location is superb - close to the seafront, old city market, harbour and shops. Reception is friendly and available. Had a happy hour on the roof with live music, drinks and nibbles - all for free at sunset. Was beautiful!

Negative: Maintenance can improve. Washroom door hinge reported faulty, not fixed till we left. Huge dead cockroach in the shower. Design was overdoing it to a point where things were impractical, example: couldn't lock that washroom door from the inside, which is uncomfortable when you have kids with you.

Positive: It took us a little while to find Zidan's partner hotel, as Akko can be almost like a maze, but once we did, we were made to feel at home by the friendly staff. The owner of our "room" quickly came to meet us with the keys, and kindly walked us to the beautiful and extremely spacious property…which was tremendously helpful, as it's very easy to get turned around in Akko! The room was absolutely gorgeous, and the photographs do not do it justice. There is an amazing feeling inside of the apartment itself, much like an oasis in the middle of the hot city, where we were able to relax on the sofa, take a Turkish bath, or just enjoy the ambience. We learned the history of the beautiful apartment, which made us appreciate it all the more, and we were also directed to a location between our stay and the partner hotel, where we could relax and unwind with some tea or coffee. That was the same place where we had breakfast, which was well beyond anything we expected, and we were able to enjoy our second day in Akko completely stuffed with delicious food! An absolutely wonderful experience, and I was sad that I was only staying in such a beautiful and deeply historic place for one night.

Negative: I think the room had been unoccupied for a short time before our stay, as there was a thin layer of stone dust on the bed and the bedside tables in our room itself. However, I think this is a natural phenomenon from such an ancient stone building, and I cannot fault the owner for the effects of time passing! Otherwise, the room was impeccably clean!

Summary: Without exception, this was the best hotel stay in all of my travels. I felt as if I had found home.
