Positive: Second time at Yatama and as per the first time it really exceeded our expectations. You are surrounded by nature all 3 types of monkey seen in the grounds and many different birds. Especially Toucans on the short self guided bird route. Night walks were amazing. Thanks again to Pedro who was an amazing host.

Positive: Great experience being in the rain forrest. Was pretty dark most of the time. Trails can be quite muddy so the rubber boots they provide come very handy. I saw a peccary for the first time on the trail. Breakfast was great as they willingly gave us extra eggs. We left behind a travel coffee cup and they mailed it to us which we are very thankful for.
Negative: If you don't like living in the dark rain forrest, probably not a great place to go. Also, if you don't like mud or insects maybe not a great place for you. The room is solar powered, but we had no problems using 2 CPAP machines.

Positive: Beautiful lodge in the middle of the rainforest with plenty of trails surrounding the site. Staff and service were amazing, especially the food and the night forest walks. Lodges were clean and comfortable and includes everything you need, with wonderful views of wildlife surrounding the property. We saw monkeys, frogs, snakes, toucans and other forest critters.
Negative: Nothing.
Summary: Perfect nature getaway in Costa Rica with abundance of wildlife on doorstep.

Positive: Probably one of my nicest stays during my 3-week trip to Costa Rica. Cottage amongst the trees with monkeys as regular (well-behaved) visitors. Good food, attentive staff made my stay really comfortable.

Positive: Yatama is an absolute jewel at the edge of Braulo Carilllo NP. The cabins are clean and comfy and there's nothing like falling asleep with the sounds of the forest. There's a lot of wildlife to be spotted (toucans and capucins right outside our window!) and the lodge's walking trails lead you to magical river crossings and moss covered bridges that will make you hear the Indiana Jones tune while you walk over them. Everything is built and thought through to preserve the environment and its inhabitants. Pedro is himself a gem of a guide, dedicated and passionate about this place. Food was amazing - including top vegan catering!

Positive: I loved the nature and the animals surrounding the lodge. The common area was also very inviting. There were hammocks and a guitar. Shoutout to Jersen ! A great guide!
Negative: Yatama is not for everyone considering its in the wild. We liked everything about this place (except maybe the bumpy ride there) but others who prefer a more sterile environment may not enjoy it as much as us.

Positive: Amazing place! The staff are brilliant You get a whole "house" to yourself with a balcony to watch the birds in.nearby trees. Perfect for escaping into nature, forget the car a couple of days, be amongst birds and frogs, enjoy the fresh food. Showers after a humid forest walk were good, with plenty hot water. Bugs and creepy crawlies were around but kept away from us! The drive up is an "adventure" ... you just need to take your time and have a good car! Allow at least 40 mins to get to the pick-up point from Horquetas. Take enough clothing for your stay - dirty, wet clothes won't dry in the forest during rainy season May to Nov. Be sure to buy a t-shirt as it also means a tree gets planted for you!

Positive: The property was very simple but it was everything we needed. The water pressure and temperature was good, the bed was comfortable, the food was good, the WiFi worked, the staff was friendly. The location was incredible. It really was a unique experience. The guided tours were really cool. We saw howler and spider monkeys, five different snakes, all sort of frogs, many birds. The guide was really knowledgeable and Pedro was super helpful. I would absolutely recommend staying here to someone.
Negative: There wasn’t anything I would say we didn’t like about this property or experience I would Just say be prepared for the bugs.
