• Dutch colonial four poster beds, one from the 18th century and two from the late 19th century
• Early 20th century colonial furnishings including tables and mirrors, crafted by Javanese and Chinese makers

• Javanese wooden figurines
• Large antique chests from Madura, an island off the coast of Java
• Earthenware jars and plates from Lombok

WHAT OUR GUESTS SAY
“The reaction of visitors, including us, upon entering the main room is WOW! It is elegantly and eclectically furnished with beautiful Indonesian furniture, and film and music memorabilia. It is a wonderful mix of large space and private areas.
“Light filled, with spectacular views from the many windows and balconies of all the main rooms including the bedrooms, the house feels part of its natural environment. It does not seem to matter what the weather is like. We have been there during hot summers, cold weather, storms and racing fogs, the house allows you to observe in wonder but still be comfortable and protected.
“Part of the joy is the flora and fauna. In season, the bush is full of flowers. There are lots of rosellas, lorikeets, cockatoos and the occasional eagle off the escarpment as well as resident lyre birds. Wallabies are regular visitors and wombats are around most nights (best seen around dawn or after dusk).“
– Des and Anne-Marie, May 2018
“A big wow! Loved the house, location and views. The magical Harry Potter mist that rolled in added to the romance of this beautiful house.”
- Kevin & Margaret, Sydney, October 2017
“An amazing and unique retreat.”
- Lorraine & Dan, Yowie Bay, October 2016

Summary: Tranquil, peace and relaxation, only downside I felt it needs a bit of a deep clean.
Angelina A. Mar 6, 2025 12:18:03 PM
Summary: This is the most amazing property. We loved the serenity of the location and the generosity of space. We felt like a friend had offered us their home to stay for the weekend; it is not your standard holiday rental property. Michael, the property manager, is top notch and an absolute dream to liaise with, so responsive and efficient.
Ana H. Jan 16, 2025 07:26:20 AM
Summary: The property is a very unique house, filled with many beautiful personal touches of the owners. If it were not for the mice who made our night somewhat miserable it would have been the perfect place to relax and enjoy.
Jennie S. May 21, 2023 11:45:14 AM
Summary: This is the 2nd time I have stayed--first was some years ago with 3 others, this time I was on my own and the house and views are just as fabulous. A unique property with fabulous views in a great rainforest setting.
Cathy T. Mar 19, 2023 06:09:20 PM
Summary: One of the best holiday places we’ve stayed at. The house had everything we needed and Mike was friendly and easy to communicate with. Our favourite room was the living and dining room which could easily fit 15 people.
Kristen B. Jan 11, 2023 08:13:02 AM
Summary: The house just felt magical, nestled as it is in the gorgeous bushland with a view down to the sea. Although our visit was in the height of summer, we were blessed with a week of cold and rain. This might have ruined our holiday, if not for the comfort of the house. It is well-appointed with everything you might need, and things are easy to find which is most helpful! We were a group of four friends, and the house gave us wonderful spaces to retreat to on our own as well as be together. We will definitely be coming back!

Summary: Wow, this magnificent property did not disappoint. We were hoping for a relaxing break and that began the minute we walked in. Everything is here to ensure a restful and enjoyable holiday from the magnificent wood fires to a whole wall of books. We found time to read, talk and thoroughly unwind. Our dogs loved it too - new sniffs and lying in front of the open fire was an absolute treat for them. It’s so beautifully maintained and managed, we will definitely be back. Thank you to Miriam and Michael, you were a pleasure to deal with.
