Positive: We wanted an authentic Japanese experience during our first trip to Japan and found Yamashiro Onsen, Miyabi no Yado. From the moment of collection at the station the staff go out of their way to make you feel special. We were the only westerners during our stay which we loved. Yakutas, informal kimono are provided for wearing around the hotel and almost everyone wears one. We booked the included dinner and breakfast and it was exceptional. A lot of food and a wonderful opportunity for the adventurous to try new things. The meal has really been a highlight from an already pretty awesome holiday. We used an app called kuli kuli to translate menus and deepl for translating spoken messages to communicate with the staff. The vast majority only speak Japanese - as we are in Japan we had no issue with that and do not expect English to be spoken when we travel. That said check in was carried out in perfect English. The gardens are quite beautiful and we highly recommend spending a night or two here to relax. We did not explore the surrounding area or use the onsen as we have tattoos and did not have tattoo covers with us. This did not in anyway detract from our stay.

Positive: Quiet, beautiful and huge outdoor garden. Provide shuttle service to/from JR Kaga Onsen Station. Onsen bath facilities are very nice. Hotel staff are extremely Really good place to relax. Hotel staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. We had an awesome experience staying at this hotel.

Negative: Dinner is traditionally Japanese style so not my husband’s style as we are from America. But other friends enjoyed the food.

Summary: Wonderful and enjoyable onsen experience vacation at this hotel.

Positive: Akiko Morita and her staff were extremely helpful with something we had misplaced. She also assisted us by calling our next hotel to get their shuttle information for us. The hotel is huge and the onsen is nice.

Positive: The hotel facility was huge and very clean. It was raining hard when we arrived and three members of hotel staff came out to the parking area to assist us with luggage and to welcome us. Check-in was very quick. The onsen located on the 1st floor was very large with a good size outdoor onsen. The dinner and breakfast were wonderful. I was a bit worried because the hotel review rate was below 8. However, I was very satisfied and this hotel was much better than the other higher rated hotels I visited previously. I would love to return to this hotel on my next trip to Ishikawa.
