Positive: Lovely, spacious cottage in a quiet and rural location. We loved having a large kitchen and dining area to cook our meals in the cottage. There was plenty of room for 6 adults and our 3 dogs. We particularly liked the cosy log burner, spacious bedrooms. The Railway Inn is a short walk from the cottage, which we have visited before, but recommend booking in advance as it has limited opening hours and was fully booked when we tried to book in. Host was helpful to provide information about how to find the cottage and check in.

Negative: No fault of the cottage but more useful for other guests - the garden is not 100% secure as there is a section of the fencing on the road that is low (3 ft) and could easily be jumped by a larger dog. This wasn't a problem for us as we kept our dogs on the lead in the garden as there is livestock in fields next door.

Positive: Lovely setting and generally well equipped and comfortable. Welcome pack was appreciated. Close to the Railway Inn for food etc and within easy reach of Bala and Lake Vyrynwy for running events

Negative: Not the easiest to find despite text instructions, which omitted step to turn at pub. There were 6 adults staying with only one bathroom so had to plan showers etc, though not a major issue.

Summary: A pleasant stay in a very picturesque if slightly remote location

Positive: Superb location, walking distance to village but up a single track road with fields and sheep all around. Perfect size for a family. Loved the sitting room with log burner…. So cosy.

Negative: The metal double bed could use some attention as very squeaky.

Positive: Absolutely stunning private converted barn in a quiet welsh rural village. All you could need for a retreat in the Tanat Valley. Cottage has all you could need, huge kitchen and dining area, 3 large double/twin rooms and a very comfortable living room with tv and log burner. Even a piano for a tinker too A very cosey warm house topped off with a large bathroom, and a hot bath, great for me being an outdoorsy mountain bike type. Stunning location and beautiful surrounding hills, countryside and Lake Vyrnwy

Positive: The cottage was very characterful, very spacious, a large kitchen with everything you need at hand. the garden areas to the front were adequate for our shih tzu.

Negative: No comfort at all, the bed was very soft , pillows terrible no support at all. All sofas were terrible again no support very soft, but also very low. Cleanliness initially we thought looked good. However we soon discovered the cobwebs , against the middle doorframe in the kitchen it was large, behind the T V along a lot of the skirtings and doors .So we spent time hoovering and dusting. Parking across from the cottage was a nightmare as it did nothing but rain, found getting soaked on arrival with luggage shopping particularly bad. With a little thought a space could be provided outside the cottage front door.
