The company that owned Plas Panteidal did not maintain it. It has now been taken over by new site owners who have a program of improvement and already the roads are greatly improved as is the electricity. The water is also improved but is subject to ongoing work.
Set in the beautiful foot hills of Snowdonia, within the wooded park of Plas Panteidal, nestles the delightful Y Bwthyn holiday chalet.
The chalet park is on the banks of the river Dyfi and only a few miles from the picturesque village of Aberdovey, with its beaches and aquatic sports activity.
The chalet makes an ideal base to explore the area and enjoy the many activities and walks that abound.
The site is located at the foot of the lovely Cader Idris Mountain range on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park and near the resorts and beauty spots of Cardigan Bay. The beautiful harbour village of Aberdovey with its' renowned mild climate, sandy beaches, sailing and championship golf course is about 3 miles away. There are many out door opportunities close – sailing, canoeing, windsurfing, yachting, rock climbing, abseiling, hill
walking, pony trekking, sea fishing and more. The chalet park is set in 40 acres of steeply rising woodside overlooking the scenic splendour of the Dovey Estuary.A delightful wooden chalet at Plas Panteidal on the edge of Snowdonia near Aberdovey. The chalet is set in woodland but has partial views of the Dovey Estuary.
Dogs are welcome by arrangement at a slight extra cost.
The chalet is recently decorated and insulated and has an air conditioner and de-humidifier.
It is three bedrooms sleeping six which comprises one with a double bed and two with two single beds each.
There is free parking next to the chalet and additional parking nearby.The chalet is close to the picturesque village of Aberdovey and there are numerous sporting activities nearby.
From the site there are stunning views of the Estuary and the Mountains.
It is in the grounds of the old palace of the Bishop of Bangor and close to places associated with Arthurian legend and local Fables.
Bookings are normally from the Saturday until the following Saturday and the weekly price varies from £200 per week to £450 per week in the high season.
To avoid light pollution the site is unlit so torches are advised.
Please note the water is supplied from an onsite spring and boiled or bottled water should be used for cooking and teeth washing etc.

Summary: the lane, all though warned, was a nightmare. The potholes have potholes! My little car almost disappeared into the larger ones and horrible scraping sounds were heard as the under side made contact with the surface! The cabin is in danger of being sallowed up with brambles, although cleared back around the cabin, were all over the other two cabins next to this one. The cabin had not seen a decent deep clean in awhile, judging by the number of spiders my daughters asked me to remove!! I would love to stay again once the 0.6 mile pot hol lane has been addressed, and the cabin has had a deep clean ( which should happen after each occupation especially with Covid around )

Summary: Nice location, chalet needs updating, bathrooms and toilet in poor condition, rooms need clearing and having a good clean (mold on a wall and dump in places). On arrival we needed to clean the property ourselves.l as it was smelly and left in a bad state not wlvery welcoming. Shower keeps tripping when you use it. Another thing to consider is the road to the chalet witch is really bad lots of pot holes Needs bigger bins for a week tine bin we had to leave lots pf rubbish bags next to it.

Summary: We took our dogs as many have done before us. The chalet was surprisingly big. Undrinkable water was annoying but didn't spoil our stay x

Summary: Nice remote location, lovely towns near by and had trips into Aberdovey and Tywyn to explore the beach in the evening, and a lovely old fashioned steam train ride with the dog and kids. Our trip to the ice cream parlour in Aberdovey, is definitely worth a visit, proper homemade ice cream, with lots of choice. Chalet was well equipped but some items were a little bit dated. Disappointed with the cleanliness of the kitchen on arrival, but this was due to previous occupants. Very impressed with the quality and cleanliness of the mattresses, duvets and pillows and air con to cool the property down was a massive plus on the warm days and evenings. Future guests just need to be prepared for the steep climb / drive to the top, but it was worth it.

The drive upto the chalet is a little step, but that doesnt detract from the overall experience. Will be considering going here again next year. Summary: Central location to lovely walks, a fabulous beach and a cute little village. Enough space to accommodate 4 children aged 11-15, 2 adults and 2 dogs. Water on site is brown but we were supplied with plenty of bottled water and both myself and my husband drink 3 litres each a day! The drive up to the cabin is very steep but, the views from the top are awesome. Also, the regulars on site are very friendly and helpful. Frodo is always happy for you to throw his stick :)

Summary: Great location for visiting this area of Wales. Everything as described and property well equipped. Only drawbacks were the steep track which, although ok in some sections, could do with being fully tarmacced and also the on-going water issue . We were made aware of this when booking and were able to get supplies of water from Aberdyfi and Tywyn. Enjoyed our four day break here, thank you.
