Positive: Rosa and Antonio were very nice & helpful. The breakfast was great.....There was no shared kitchen as stated under facilities, we were able to keep some things in a fridge. There was no daily housekeeping. Great people, great location. Minor deviations from advertising

Positive: The attention of the hosts was wonderful! The rooms are right in front of the sea and there is a lovely terrace upstairs to enjoy breakfast and sunrise in Xcalak!

Positive: The host and her kids are lovely, they give you a warm welcome. The breakfast is great, every morning something different and fresh juices. The location is right in front of the ocean and a 5 minutes walk to nearby restaurants so that was great. Free parking in front of the building

Negative: I initially booked a room without AC because we dive and don't want to risk a cold. But the first night we were boiling in the room cause the fan didn't do the job. It's attached to a wall, too far away from the bed. After communication with the owner we could change to a room with AC. Rooms were not really clean. Accommodation in general needs some serious maintenance and an upgrade to justify the price. But we saw in town that the accommodation is for sale so maybe that's why the owner doesn't do an effort anymore.

Summary: A nice stay in Xcalak, accommodation needs some maintenance.

Positive: The service girl was nice and friendly. Rooms sufficiently big.

Negative: There was a miscommunication about costs extra costs for air con, at first it was 200 MEX$ per night later at check-out 250 MEX$. Actually not a big deal, but annoying; plus one night the air con did not work due to general power shortage in the entire village. Again, it can happen and after some discussion with the owner we found a kind of compromise, but both issues should not be covered by any customer or should be worthwhile to be discussed...

Summary: Effortful, but not very customer-friendly
