Positive: Location great but not quite as advertised

Negative: Wasn’t private, parking and cooking facilities not great, no hot water until worked out what to do (just before we’d left!)

Summary: Good - just wish hot water and website pics had been clearer as property was not private etc

Positive: Comfortable cottage, although beds could do with firmer mattresses. Good facilities in kitchen. Comfortable furniture in lounge. Nice shower in en suite.

Negative: Workman who were working on the property and garden next door arrived at 7.15 am and parked in the parking area immediately outside at the front of Wren Cottage and woke us up every morning Monday to Friday. Van doors banging, loud chat, and a generator running right outside until 4pm on the Monday.. We couldn't sit outside as no sun shade/deck chairs (the weather was extremely hot during our stay) and too noisy to sit on the terrace at the front due to the builders until after they'd left. Not the peaceful location with lovely views we were expecting from the.property description. You couldn't see the lovely views at the front unless you looked out of the bedroom windows.. Hedge at the front by the terrace obscured the view. Reported issue with noise to the owner who contacted the owner next door but this made no difference to the early starts and general noise unfortunately. .

Positive: The location and the property are lovely. Idea lol for a couple or family with older children. The walls around the property are wonderful and the wildlife was plentiful. The setup is perfect, lovely kitchen and living room and a lovely little terrace area. Such a peaceful location. The owners are also lovely. Plenty of communications and also suggestions for what to do in the area. Cannot fault.

Negative: It isn’t the best for young children in terms of keeping them entertained. There’s only so much walking they can do, and Booking.com doesn’t inform of Wi-Fi usage. For adults this isn’t an issue but for kids who have their iPads to watch tv etc it was very limited.

Summary: Lovely place for amblers and those who love nature and outdoors. Great little cottage.
