This beautiful five bedroom, two bath home is located away from the hustle and bustle of the city in New River. The hot tub, in a stunning desert setting provides an exceptional place from which to experience Arizona's unrivaled sunsets. The stars are almost close enough to touch as the location feels far from city lights as the Gavilan peak mountain blocks of the rest of the world. The resort includes a fire pit and a children’s play area. The backyard includes a huge chess set and synthetic grass.
Conveniently located approximately 45 minutes north of Phoenix's Sky Harbor International airport at exit #232 on Highway 17. New River is an easy drive to Carefree, Cavecreek, Scottsdale and Sedona, or a day trip to the Grand Canyon. Wakeboarding and water skiing are possible within 20 minutes at Lake Pleasant and downhill skiing and snowboarding are only 2 hours away in Flagstaff. There is great shopping at the Outlet Mall at Anthem (about a 10 minute drive). The popular Roadrunner restaurant and bar are within minutes of the resort and just 10 minutes away is a Walmart Super-center that is open 24 hours. In Anthem, just a few minutes south, children will love the numerous parks and play areas, including the train, skate board park and many restaurant You can golf at more than 25 golf courses that are within 40 minutes of this resort. There is also an option to have an archery lesson here on the property.

Summary: Not as big or luxurious as the pictures. Initally had a big jungle gym in the back in the pictures on VRBO. When we got there with our kids in tow, there was no jungle gym. We were pretty upset and so were they. This was a huge reason why we chose this property to stay at. They didn't have basic things like a can opener, cookie sheets or water in the water dispenser. They did fill the water and bring us cookie sheets so that was nice but it was an inconveniece to have to ask. You also will not have access to the garage. The property owner was nice and accomodating so that was very appreciated, but the property could use some TLC and some changes with hospitality in mind.

Summary: It's a beautiful house, almost out of place for the location. Plenty of space and room for the family to have time apart as well as time together. We used it as a base for several day trips, mostly to the north including the Grand Canyon. The outside/patio furniture was sort of dingy, so didn't get used--would have been nice to enjoy sitting outside on the patio, especially in the evenings. A quiet location--nighttime is totally silent, mornings are a symphony of various birds and animals (mules, turkeys, horses, goats, etc.) asking for their breakfast. The 3 horses off the front yard were fun to feed carrots. More instruction on getting into the location would have been helpful--GPS maps sent us through someone's yard and almost over a drop-off. The neighborhood is sort of a maze of dirt roads/driveways that are difficult to distinguish, at least until you get oriented. Overall a great experience!

Summary: The property is perfect for a group. The yard was perfect for the kids. There was a lot to do so we spent a lot of time outside enjoying the scenery. Heidi was very responsive and very helpful. We would stay at this property again.
