Positive: Historic building and the tavern.
Negative: No staff at front desk all weekend. Our blinds kept falling down. The room was very hot and we could not adjust the temperature. We did find a fan that helped.

Positive: Reception staff were really friendly and helpful. A light that was out in the bathroom was quickly replaced. The breakfast chef was friendly and attentive and cooked things fresh for us. Short walk to the side of the lake
Negative: The restaurant didn't appear to be busy but the food took the best part of half an hour to appear and was on the more expensive side for the quality. They didn't have the bottle of wine we chose and the replacement was more expensive! The bedroom floor needed sweeping, when you were bare foot it was gritty.

Negative: No mini fridge. Also someone with a dog let there dog crap by my car & it was left there right by my drivers door.

Positive: The restaurant was great- bar service was good. Wish we had the opportunity to have dinner. Menu looked outstanding.
Negative: Upon check in, there's no staff. They have you check in at shift change which I found to be odd. . So if you have questions or your key gets stuck- good luck. Our key did get stuck & we needed assistance. We asked the only staff we saw & she was clearly busy & flustered. She got the manager, who seemed annoyed & said the key worked. We must not have done it right. After a few minutes key did end up working in the antiquated door lock & the manager had a 'told you so attitude'. We arrived at breakfast a bit late Sunday morning- 9:25 & breakfast ended at 9:30. Server was obviously annoyed & said we could help ourselves to the buffet. Cold potatoes, old French toast & eggs that had been sitting who knows how long. Didn't offer to refill empty coffee careafes until another guest asked. Not a great experience. We felt like a nuisance to staff. Monday morning was vastly different. Breakfast was outstanding- the food & the service from Bob - I think that was his name. He not only took the order, but cooked the food & just gave really great, polite service. Felt taken care of & like he was happy to see us. He's a gem.
