Positive: Very Rural, peaceful location. Beautiful countryside views amongst nature but access to other villages and seaside resorts within easy reach by car. Accommodation exceeded my expectations that it was bigger than I thought it likely to be which was a bonus. An extremely comfortable place to unwind as it was so very quiet. The private garden is a nice place to sit out and relax in.

Negative: Perhaps an upgrade on more comfortable chairs outdoors if looking to be seated outside for longer.

Summary: An enjoyable, relaxing short stay amongst nature and countryside views. Accommodation ensured this.

Positive: A lovely, spacious converted barn in a rural location in the heart of the countryside, but also within driving distance of local towns and villages. The property was warm and cosy and we had the added benefit of being able to use the wood burner when the temperature dropped at night. There is a functionally equipped kitchen (no dishwasher though), which allowed us to prepare meals etc, as there are no eating facilities on your doorstop; all a short drive away. We loved the outdoor patio area, which caught the sun in the afternoon, and more generally, the overall peace and tranquility of the place... which is exactly what we wanted. There are good pubs and restaurants a short drive away.

Negative: There was nothing that came close to spoiling our long weekend, the property is lovely, and very comfortable. Some minor niggles though included, an intermittent fault with the television, with electro-static bands sometimes appearing across the screen and the only solution was to pull the plug and restart. Also, the TV itself is old now, it is not a smart TV and wouldn't even accept a USB stick. Given the isolated nature of the property this should now be considered and essential upgrade. Other things like the struggling shower pump, causing the water to oscillate between hot and cold, and the Nespresso machine not working were minor irritants. I stress though, not enough to spoil the experience... just enough to drop the rating to a 9/10.
