Positive: Everything!!! It is such a lovely place, with a huge yard! Also we love that is pet friendly. We stayed in two rooms kind and queen, pretty comfortable and with a nice chimney. Honestly the best! Plus the front desk manager was so nice and helpful!

Positive: My room was spacious and spotless, nice decor and atmosphere. The setting of the hotel is beautiful. The building itself felt historic. Communication from the property was good.

Negative: Difficult to find! Signage needed down on the main road and on Lawrence Rd. The 3 people that I asked in Townshend had never heard of it. My room was clean but hallways in need of sprucing up, new carpet. I was told the fireplace didn’t work, and my door out to the old wooden fire escape was sealed shut. I failed to read the email about the breakfast coupons but I wish Jason had told me about them. Jason was polite but not necessarily welcoming. The hotel is a work in progress-some unused rooms with junk, peeling paint, etc. I liked the place but it’s needs more improvement to bill it as fully functioning.

Summary: Wonderful historic building in a beautiful setting that is a work in progress.

Positive: The rooms were charming and the scenery is lovely.

Negative: There is zero printed information in the rooms. There is zero food/snack options and barely coffee in the morning. The lounge downstairs was freezing…all of this could have been easily taken care of. A wasted opportunity.

Positive: Location was quiet and secluded.

Negative: I had difficulty trying to figure out the thermostat for my room (west room). The AC was blowing through the floor vents, and I couldn’t shut it off nor turn on the heat. It seemed to have resolved when I awoke the next morning, because it no longer felt as cold.
