Summary: Lovely bed and pillows, but poor small dated bathroom with unclean shower seal and no storage space. Coffee machine dirty in room. Fridge/table unit on sloping floor (understandable due to nature of old building) but everything rolled out. Breakfast staff not very attentive. Very overpriced, feel we spent too much for 1 night.

Summary: Just returned for a 3 night break at The William Cecil. It is a charming, old hotel ideally situated for a walk into Stamford or as a base to explore the region. It is clean and well maintained with plenty of parking. All the staff we encountered during our stay were welcoming, friendly and very helpful. We had a small, "Cosy" room which, again, was clean with a large, comfortable bed. The only downside was the absence of storage for clothes which meant we were living out of a suitcase. The was no wardrobe or drawers and the only cupboard was taken by the tea and coffee making facilities and a fridge. Four hangers on two coat hooks fixed to the door to the room is inadequate for a four star hotel. Breakfast was excellent. Freshly cooked food served by cheerful staff was a definite plus. All in all a good break and would definitely stay again although would probably opt for a larger room

Summary: What an amazing hotel! We were running late due to traffic. They held a table open for us even though the restaurant was closing! We were checked in before we arrived and the key handed to us at the dining table! Evening meal and breakfast were both delicious.

Summary: A lovely venue with good quality food, Given the room rate it would be good if the bedrooms had a little more home comforts like bath robes and a biscuit or something to accompany the coffee in the rooms.

Summary: The breakfast was disappointing. Bread and croissants were dried up and stale. Too much was put out at the start - put less out and staff should monitor refilling as needed. Parking was excellent which is a bonus in Stamford

Summary: The check in was very quick and efficient. The breakfast choice was varied and cooked breakfast well presented and individually cooked. It was very pleasant sitting in the courtyard with a drink.

Summary: We arrived early and decided to try the dining facilities. We were pleasantly surprised at the options and pricing. When the courses arrived the standard was excellent. The room was spacious, clean and well appointed with ensuite facilities, coffee machine with small fridge and milk as well as bottled water. The bed was very comfy. Breakfast had many options. From toast, cereals, croissants, Danish-style pastries to the obligatory full English. Which again was fantastic. We took our coffee into the "Arts & Crafts" styled lounge where comfy sofas and Sunday papers were available. Parking was plentiful and close to the reception. The staff were pleasant and attentive. We were lucky to have the weather to sit in the garden. Overall, a very pleasant stay. Thank you

Summary: Perfect and charming. High Quality renovation and amenities with very good taste. Great food quality. Staff are all very nice and friendly Well appointed lounge and atmosphere. Beautiful. The only small short coming was the toilet in our room didn’t flush well.
