Summary: The new part of the hotel is excellent but if you get a room in the older part of the hotel the maitinance needs improving. Bar and wedding facilities excellent. Overall the stay for 2 nights was good.

Summary: Our first stay at this hotel which appeared to have a strong focus as a wedding reception venue. The hotel entrance driveway leads directly from a roundabout on the A619 to the car park at the front of the hotel. However, with no signs indicating where to find Reception it was a little confusing. The staff we encountered were on the whole friendly and helpful to degrees that generally increased with their age. Our 2-night stay occurred in mid September during a period when the average daytime temperatures rose a little and on our second evening we found our room far too hot for comfort. After struggling with what we thought was the room thermostat we were told that it didn't control the room temperature, as there was no air conditioning (or radiators). We were given a pedestal fan to use with the window cracked open as far as it would go which made the room much cooler and enabled us to sleep in comfort. (On calling Reception to report the problem via the internal telephone proved difficult as we heard a ringing tone but got no answer, so one of us went down to report the problem. When a staff member came up to the room a few minutes later we were told they had been ringing the room but we hadn't answered - which was because it had not rung.) We also felt that the £50 per night charge for accommodating our small dog was excessive and which our booking system had not quantified beforehand.

Summary: Window was broken and couldn't close it. Toilet seat was loose and wobbly. Lamps didnt work in the room. Luckily we wasn't in the room long as we were just there for a wedding.

Summary: Room was very nice but cold tap didn’t work in bathroom. This was fixed the next day After reporting. Staff were very helpful.

Summary: One of the best value business hotels i have stayed in for a long while. Check in was smooth and the guy very helpful. Restaurant service and food first class. Room had everything you need and spacious. Would recommend and stay there again

Summary: Really pleased with the overall stay, I know it’s an older building but window frames could be cleaner. Window didn’t close. We definitely would stay again.

Summary: We stayed for three nights and whilst the reception/check-in staff were lovely, we were very disappointed that our rooms were not clean when we first checked in. From very obvious dust on the bed heads, bedside tables, phone and lamps, to sticky residue on bedside tables, to a dirty quilt cover, to the toilet basin rim bring unclean, to carpets in need of a vacuum and clean. We had to call for housekeeping twice and in the end just did our best to clean things as we saw them. The rooms could have been lovely, but such obvious lack of attention to cleaning was off putting. We had also wanted to book treatments in the spa, but we're unable to. We were promised a call from the spa manager, but received an email, to which we responded trying to book, but didn't hear anything further back. Our room was supposed to be a Spa room, but in reality the name had nothing to do with the spa, which is actually only treatment rooms. Breakfast was mediocre at best with bacon cooked to a dry crisp each morning except the last. Coffee was terrible. Whilst the restaurant team were friendly and attentive for dinner and breakfast, we had chipped and dirty cups and had to ask for the milk jug to be changed twice because inside was very clearly dirty from old/dried milk. We were extremely disappointed with what should have been a lovely stay at a seemingly pretty hotel.
