Positive: Well equipped and beautifully appointed cottage. The beds were very comfortable with plenty of hanging space in the rear bedroom, no wardrobe in the front bedroom. Good lighting in the bathroom with a passive night light for those who have to nip in in the 'wee' small hours. Quality fittings in the kitchen along with a small selection of provisions I.e. tea and coffee. There is a small seating area in the back yard which catches the afternoon sun and off road parking for 2 cars at the front. It was a little bit chilly on the day of our arrival but the cottage was very warm, the central heating had been put on for us. The underfloor heating in the kitchen is very comfy underfoot but we did switch it off it was so warm. In the village there is a small convenience store which is well stocked but I wouldn't recommend a weekly shop there. The pub opposite the cottage is very pleasant and the meals are edible but uninspiring. However, a fish and chip van comes to the village on Friday evenings, delicious food. Staplecross is located within 30 - 60 mins drive to major attractions. We'd definitely recommend this cottage for a small family or a couple of friends.

Negative: The wi fi and general signal strength is not great, on one occasion I had to go to the end of the street to make a call. Not a major problem but might frustrate avid phone/ Internet users. I did get a lot of duplicated messages from the owners regarding access to the cottage and what to do on leaving. I'm sure that they wanted me to be reassured that they were available if any issues occurred but it did seem to be a lot of correspondance.

Positive: I don’t know why this property is only rated a 3 by booking.com because it is absolutely beautiful! It’s finished to such a high standard, and attention to detail is superb. The main bedroom is so stunning and the bed was so comfortable. The kitchen is stunning too.

Positive: A cut above most holiday rentals: decorated, furnished & equipped in a very stylish way. Everything was to a very high standard. We loved it.

Negative: Our stay was excellent, so we're not complaining. To be picky: it is much better for two adults and a small child or too. A bit too cosy with adult-sized teens (3rd bedroom is tiny; only one bathroom).

Positive: Wow…wow…wow…we were totally blown away with Wheelwrights Cottage! Nikki has tastefully decorated the whole cottage to a high specification and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay as a family while having our home renovated. The extra special touches that Nikki had left for us was so thoughtful and made our stay even more memorable. The neighbours were amazing too and were very helpful. We enjoyed our stay so much we extended for a further 8 days. we can highly recommend Wheelwrights Cottage if you want 5 star service!!!

Negative: Tastefully decorated and close to all amenities.

Summary: absolutely amazing… we came away totally refreshed and would recommend to family and friends!
