Summary: The room was fine and decorated nicely. The building and the garden was very impressive The two things that were disappointing was the wifi, as it was so poor we were unable to watch the tv in our bedroom. It was also a struggle to use the wifi in the bar area. The second issue was the pillows, which were very uncomfortable.

Summary: It wasn’t a brilliant start as there was nobody on reception when we checked in. We waited around 10 minutes and eventually we found a bar man who checked started the check in process. Another guy took over to complete our check in. We were a bit early and the guy said he would check if our room was ready. This took another 10 minutes. We eventually arrived in our room which was spotlessly clean with decent toiletries. The bedding was good quality and we had a decent night sleep. Good tea/coffee facilities in our room, including a couple of biscuits. The breakfast was delicious, a standard English buffet with good quality products and served piping hot. I ordered poached eggs which were perfect. There is a lot of history attached to the hotel which interested us and managed to chat to a member of staff who was enthusiastic about the hotel and its interesting history. Apart from the disappointing check in experience, we had a great stay, so much we will return.

Summary: Clean and spacious room, good breakfast, and good parking. Staff on the desk and at breakfast were very friendly and for the price the breakfast was good. We stayed in the older part of the property and loved the old features in the room so worth the extra cost

Summary: Great large sized suite with separate sitting room with 2nd tv. Staff very friendly. Lovely restaurant and bar. I had room 52 with old escape cupboard. Quite historical to have.

Summary: My only complaint is that I couldn't tell what all the switches were for - so inadvertently turned on the heated towel-rack on the hottest day of the year. Otherwise, great.

Summary: Great Location. Nice facilities and gardens. There was a function room with an event happening and there was no noise in my room. However, the auto closers on the fire doors and the room doors meant there was a lot of slammed doors that were very loud.

Summary: Room only cleaned for third day. Apparently you have to ask to have this done.i would have thought bed would be made, toilet and basin wiped, mugs washed and coffee/milk replaced each day. Lovely grounds, good breakfast, polite staff. Generally clean although dust and dead flies on window sills not good, directly next to breakfast tables.
