Positive: Location and old traditional historical building
Negative: There was only hot water or very warm water coming from the bath room tap. NO COLD WATER. The plug in the bathroom sink was constantly stuck down so we couldn’t use it.
Summary: Lovely building enjoyed location

Positive: location is good. Did not have meals because the dining room does not have a cosy feel.
Negative: When I got home I received a parking charge, so my car registration number had not been passed on to the parking company used. I sent it to the manager to sort out.

Positive: Very close to town centre. The property had olde world characteristics including wood panelling , large windows from past era and lovely old staircase. Breakfast was very good. Hotel was undergoing some refurbishment and am sure it will look great when completed.
Negative: Nothing really
Summary: Only stay for one night but found the hotel pleasant with friendly staff .

Positive: Beautiful building from the outside, marginally disappointing in the communal areas. This hotel could be extraordinary but it not in any way. Free Guest parking to the rear was a bonus. The suite and deluxe rooms had a good amount of space, although the deluxe room looked out upon a wall.
Negative: I understood this hotel to have undergone renovation after a government contract. The renovation has been poorly carried out, with substandard fixtures and fittings. There is no imaginative design nor decoration in either the communal areas nor the bedrooms. Carpets throughout are old, dirty and in places threadbare. Having used Booking .com to book 2 twin rooms, I rang the hotel directly to see if I could upgrade one room to a suite. Firstly I needed to check if the bed could be split into a twin as this information was not available on Booking .com. I was unable to amend the existing booking so agreed to pay an additional amount directly to the hotel for the larger room, I was also offered a free upgrade to a Deluxe for the other twin so they would be close to one another. That I very much appreciated. It transpired the twin rooms I had booked did not comply with the published photographs, therefore misleading to a customer; both were in the extension to the rear of the building and yet to be renovated. That building often had men hanging around at the door, one might guess they were not regular hotel guests. Had I been allocated rooms in that part of the hotel, I would have wanted to be moved. As a prolific traveller I have become intolerant to hotels groups who think it’s ok to accept a booking and payment but provide substandard accommodation offering lazy, inept cleaning procedures; pink and black shower mould; dust on walls; quick-flick vacuuming; hair and toenail clipping of previous guests; bedside lamps at jaunty angles; door hooks hanging on with a single screw; ill fitting bed linens and old towels; incompetent shower waste causing flooding. This hotel is such a place. I suspected bed-bugs and certainly there are no mattress protectors, a post on social media confirmed other guests had such an infestation. We did not eat in the hotel, so can’t make comment. Sadly I cannot recommend this hotel. I hope management take heed.
Summary: Could Be A Fabulous Hotel, but It Is NOT
