Positive: The location is quiet, clean and friendly. We were greeted with a smile at front desk upon arrival. The lobby is open and bright and very welcoming. The room had everything we could need to be comfortable and was exceptionally clean with a very “welcome home” feel

Negative: There’s nothing that I didn’t like about the property. The only critique I could possibly have is that the night stand was a bit older with some dings and scratches on it. I don’t mind if there’s furniture that perhaps needs an upgrade when the room is as clean and accommodating as this hotel.

Summary: We truly felt like guests in someone’s loved home when we stayed.

Positive: The staff we dealt with were nice.

Negative: The biggest drawback to this place is the stairs. All the rooms are on the second floor and there is no elevator. My partner is a wounded veteran with a service dog. This was very difficult for him. I also found the stairs difficult when I was taking stuff to our room and out to the car in the morning. The breakfast was mediocre. Would not recommend for anyone with mobility issues.

Summary: It's not good for anyone with mobility issues.

Positive: The associated restaurant "The Porch" was very convenient and the food very good and reasonably priced. The main lobby was also very attractive and welcoming.

Negative: Our room was very small and dated and the bathroom was even more dated and in some respects, dingy.

Positive: The staff were all really lovely. Breakfast was good although the sausages looked uncooked (didn't try one). The room was clean and it was nice and quiet, although I was above the brewhouse on a night when they were closed and I bet it would have been louder if it was open. The friendly staff was the favourite thing about the place.

Negative: The mattress was awful. It was really hard and so I had a really bad sleep. I was very uncomfortable. Of course it's hard to please everyone in that sense. I'm sure lots of people like a firm mattress.

Positive: Bed was comfortable and nice pillows. Room was a nice size.

Negative: Light burned out in bathroom. No bath mat and very slippery. Water went from burning hot to freezing cold with nothing in the middle unless you waited many minutes for it to even out. Room was dirty. Boot tray had mud on it. Traffic noise given the location by the highway. Breakfast wasn’t ready at 8 as promised and we were a hurry. It was put out bit by bit over a half hour. Toaster was complicated and staff person didn’t know how to operate it. Tap dripped constantly no matter how you tightened both cold and hot faucets. Staff were not knowledgeable about the local area, for example bike paths and things to see and do. Not prepared for people you might expect to visit Kimberley. No one seemed to care about the big picture. Just doing their jobs, and not very well. No pride in the operation.

Summary: Disappointing, and was a down note in our visit to Kimberley. Would not stay there again.
