Summary: Great hotel, but wouldn’t book for a relaxing stay! The hotel itself is lovely and in a great, central location, but unfortunately our experience didn’t match the setting! The hotel has party nights with an DJ, which we hadn’t been made aware of. If we had known we would have booked a different hotel or at least been prepared. Music was very loud. When we spoke to staff about it, there was no real apology or understanding. One of them said, “What do you expect us to do?” and mentioned they try to put people on floors 1 or 2 when events are on—but we were on floor 3, which wasn’t very helpful! To top it off, we received a call in the middle of the night at 1:30 a.m. from head office asking if we were another guest. Our room phone showed 12 missed calls from them, which was really unsettling and disrupted our sleep. We also had issues trying to get a drink at the bar—on two occasions we waited for quite a while but were ignored, even though there were only a couple of other people there. No greeting or “be with you in a minute”. In the end, we left and went to a different bar. It’s a shame, because the hotel and location are great, but the lack of communication and poor customer service really affected our stay.
