Positive: I stayed in the hut at the bottom of the field by the river. It was tranquil, surrounded by nature and absolutely beautiful. I was the only one staying so had all facilities to myself. The shower was lovely and warm, there is also a toilet in this large room in a barn. In addition I had a compost toilet in a shed next to my hut for convenience. Down a short sharp incline there is a wooden deck by the river with a chair to sit and watch birds and squirrels in the shade of a willow tree. The shared kitchen was full of utensils, cups, pans, a kettle, toaster and a fridge. Everything you need to get by. The hut was cosy and comfy, but stayed cool in the sun. The bed was comfy and the bed covers smelled gorgeous! There are a couple of solar powered lights in the hut which are enough to read and potter around when its dark. I had a campfire in the fire pit which was a lovely way to spend an evening watching the sunset and the bats! The field is gorgeous in the sun, with lots of trees around for dappled shady spots. Plenty of space if you want to lounge around and enjoy the peace. Newport is very close, 9 minutes by car. Plenty of supermarkets on the outskirts for any groceries and also a lovely fish and chip shop in the centre. Derick the owner was so lovely and welcoming, and then left me to my own devices with the proviso he was nearby if I needed anything. I travelled alone and felt very safe and also like I had privacy to just mooch around, enjoy the sunshine and read and relax without interruption. If you are coming with a partner or alone, its a great spot for a soothing reset.

Positive: The location is beautiful, so calm and tranquil. If you are looking to get away from it all, then these huts are highly recommended. The owner couldn't do enough for us : wood for fires in the evening and even fitted one of us in for a hair cut! It's just a short walk from the hut to the toilet and shower which were really spacious. The hut itself was comfortable and very private enabling you to sit back and enjoy being surrounded by nature. We left the hut feeling very refreshed and relaxed and would definitely return in the future.

Positive: I absolutely loved my stay. I was in the hut by the lake which was amazing. As a solo guest on my first outing i was a bit nervous but needn't have been. I had my own very private space but close eough to feel secure. Even treated myself to a trip to Barnet in the Barn before I left! Thank you Derick and Charlotte.. just what i needed. See you again soon xx
