Summary: Just returned this morning from a stellar week in Port-Joie. Living on this beautiful stretch of the Seine was a delight & a revelation. The traffic on the river (pleasure boats, a daily parade of working barges), all the swans, the changing beauty of the river itself— like a mirror at dawn & sunset, restless during the day—made for a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The house itself was comfy, very much a lived-in, family home, & the caretaker left a bouquet of roses & garden flowers on the dining table as a welcome. The beauty and peace of the place were all I had hoped for. You can walk for miles up and down the path along the river, & feed bread to the swans just in front of the cottage. Really, really loved it, & am looking forward to a return. Merci!

Summary: Peaceful place,romantic house and garden, great view, very quiet neighborhood, far from touristic places. Children cannot swim in the river or elsewhere near but fishing and kayaking is possible.

Summary: This property is charming! Perhaps the most restful place in all those in which have holidayed in the past. The outlook to the river from the living room is superb. Lovely riverside walks, great bird& nature watching. We saw a red squirrel whilst walking...& I think there was an otter! Lots to visit within 20 mins-1hr. Loved the little riverside town of La Bouille & don’t miss the nearby restaurant right on the river La Bateliere (the Boatwoman) Rouen is wonderful too, as is the abbey at Jumieges. Take a picnic! Highly recommended!

Summary: A lovely view of the Seine. The house made a great base for touring the cathedrals in the region. an oven would be a good addition to the house.

Summary: We loved our stay at "Sans Facon" a beautiful and quirky house right by the river The location is superb and very convenient for visiting Giverny, Versailles and beautiful villages along The Seine. Our Sat Nav sent us to the wrong place and in torrential rain the property was very difficult to find. I was unable to access HomeAway's App because my iPhone is too old to support the technology. With no wifi available I would suggest to future visitors that they print off a hard copy of the location map before leaving home! The house is down a maze of "Chemins". Very little English is spoken in the area! The house is clean homely and welcoming and the heating and plumbing are excellent. We would have preferred a stand in shower - at our great age getting out of the baths proved tricky! Everything was comfortable except the double bed which proved impossible for two, so the mattress from the spare bed had to be used on the floor. We also would have liked more comfortable pillows. If you want a relaxing holiday in totally peaceful surroundings we would thoroughly recommend this property

Summary: We loved our visit to this lovely peaceful cottage right on the river. It is tucked out of the way in pretty Porte Joie, but in easy reach of great swimming lakes, kayaking, supermarkets and lots of villages to explore. It does lack some mod cons (wifi, oven, standup showers) but i think it adds to the charm of the place. Thanks for a lovely holiday.

Summary: We had a lovely stay at this gite with our family of five. The view is stunning and the facilities are good. The sunny living room and garden begged for a longer stay. If I have to give some critique, it would be that the beds are a bit too small for tall (2 meters) people.

Summary: A charming old cottage on the Seine with beautiful tile floors. Great views of the river and an ample garden space for dining outside. The master suite on the first floor is large with a beautiful old bathroom with original tile and claw foot tub. The kitchen is vintage but adequate. As artists, we were thrilled to have beautiful sites to paint at such close proximity. Close to Rouen and Giverny as well as many other sites in Normandy.

Summary: A really traditional French cottage which was peaceful and in such a wonderful location right on the banks of the Seine. It was wonderful to get away from it all and just enjoy chatting and laughing sat out by the River. Although this cottage did not have some mod cons such as wifi, an oven ( the BBQ was great) and no duvets ( sheets and blankets on the beds) it did not affect our enjoyment. We took our kayaks and spent most evenings on the very calm river with the children. A good location to explore the villages of Normandy and we easily travelled to Paris for the day. The details and pictures online are accurate - we were amazed to realise that we had the run of the whole property in the pictures (there was even the garage for the car!). Thank you!
