Positive: After overcoming initial problem, the lodge we got was perfect for a family of 5 for 2 nights - double bed, bunk bed with pull out single bed. The free yoga and paddle boarding was great. We loved the four poster double sun beds! Our kids loved the frogs, fish and water snake.

Negative: When we checked in it took some time even though we had checked in online beforehand. We are a family of 5 and were advised we required 2 family cabins. We were informed that there was a maintenance issue with one of our cabins and that we would be upgraded. We were not shown to the accommodation and when we arrived at our cabin it was clear that it was already occupied . We went back to reception and they said that it was definitely vacant. A staff member accompanied us and she confirmed that it was indeed occupied. It was a lot of waiting around in the heat. We decided to go to the second cabin and to wait further instruction from staff in the comfort of air conditioning. We could not un-pack or enjoy the facilities. We discovered that this accommodation was enough for a family of 5 and that we did not need the second cabin, as advised on booking by the booking.com chat. We asked if we could cancel second accommodation as it is our preference to stay together but we were told that a refund for the second cabin was not permitted. We were given a second cabin. The handle was hanging off and the door was impossible to open. I called reception and a staff member came to help us open it. She managed to open it after several attempts. We tried to practise opening and closing the property but it was practically impossible and not fit for purpose. We have chosen to stay with our children as we would not be comfortable leaving our 16 year old sons to manage locking and unlocking the property. The staff member was very pleasant and said that she felt we should be refunded the price of the second cabin and be allowed to stay in one cabin. Two hours into our stay the matter was resolved - we received a full refund for the second cabin. We had a great stay from there on in.

Summary: Beautiful, relaxing place but individual properties definitely need an update in maintenance.

Positive: We loved staying on the lake again (this was our second visit)> Kids kept entertained watching / catching frogs, snake spotting! and playing on the paddleboards - a great feature. Thank you! Accommodation was perfect, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and kitchen/ living room. Cleaned during our week stay and close enough to walk down for a morning / afternoon swims! Breakfast hamper is superb. Beautiful views and sunsets from our top balcony and at the top bar.

Negative: Restaurant seemed overwhelmed with a reduced menu and vibe from our previous visit 2 years ago. Disappointing.

Positive: We had a family pod, it was perfect! The kids loved their beds upstairs. It was lovely to sit outside the pod to dine. The sunset view was amazing.I loved the double beds beside the bio pool- they were very luxurious. The bio pool was fun and I enjoyed swimming through it. The paddle boarding was a massive hit and it was great that they were free to use. The dome pool was fantastic and so much fun especially because we had it to ourselves both times we went. The staff were all so friendly. The WhatsApp messaging worked perfectly- our questions were answered swiftly. !

Negative: Nothing.

Positive: Staff were really helpful and friendly. Very relaxing environment. Accommodation was comfortable for glamping. Restaurant and bar, when open ( closed on Mon & Tues), was very welcoming and staff were all really nice. Overall, it was a very relaxing and enjoyable week.

Negative: It's quite hard to find, even with sat nav. There is no shop facility to provide even basic essentials but i guess it is glamping after all. The nearest supermarket is about 5 miles away, so stock up the car before arrival. Very dry, and some staff drove far to quickly around site, ignoring speed limits, kicking up a lot of dust.
