Positive: Beautiful cottage.

Negative: Unfortunatelly the standard of cleaning was not good. There were crumbs in the fridge and hair in the bath. Good idea to clean under the bed and the sofa once in a while! I suspect that there was too much chlorine in the hot tub because it would cause itching and sensitive skin. Lastly, the grill was hanging half way down. I think a couple of screws would fix it. The above are easy to sort and would make a big difference to people's stay.

Positive: Lovely cottage in great location, lots of places to walk in a gorgeous village with short walk to village pub.

Negative: Kitchen needs a deep clean, there were crumbs on bread board, coffee machine was sticky, solid coffee in coffee jar and old sugar in sugar jar. Key safe was open on arrival.

Positive: The hot tub in the garden, the bed was so comfy. You had everything you needed.

Negative: Some things had been broken and clearly not reported, I felt uneasy telling the host incase we got the blame but it all seems to be OK. A welcome box would have topped it off of just basics

Positive: Charming little cottage in a beautiful village with lots of period features.

Negative: Photos were deceiving - much smaller than expected, for a family. Kitchen was quite greasy and the worktops sticky, baking tray had not been cleaned. Dishwasher stank and clearly hadn’t been run in a while. Both the duvets/blankets had odd stains on them even so they smelled clean. Toilet was a bit grubby and the shower could do with an upgrade. Tiles were all grotty and the drain didn’t clear so we had to buy drain unblocker so we could shower without flooding the bathroom! The single bed was a little uncomfortable, but we only stayed a few days so it didn’t matter too much. Quaint place, just needs a bit of a clean and photos should show accurately the size of the space.

Summary: Quaint little cottage, delightful village. Don’t being too much stuff :-)

Positive: This was self- catering. We loved the king size bed and comprehensively- equipped kitchen . The TV package was excellent. The villagers were really welcoming..we made friends,got invited to a party, around to someone’s’ for drinks! Great food at The Cock..best fish and chips ever for a tenner!

Negative: I kept banging my head going into the bathroom..don’t know if alterations possible ..probably just my fault! We didn’t appreciate thst the bins had not been emptied prior to our arrival, there was no date in book as to when to put them out..as a result of which it was teeming with maggots which we tried to destroy daily,unsuccessfully. Advised Dave,the caretaker on hand over…he was excellent,although we did not need to bother him as we are self- sufficient.

Positive: Cute and comfortable cottage. Love the simplicity. Very considerate and generous with a small study table and stationery area. Hot water tub (jaccuzzi) available for us to use in the back garden.

Negative: The washing machine was located next to the dustbin and not much room and we struggled to put in and out the clothes. There was no dryer. We had to hang our washed clothes during winter.

Summary: Excellent location in a village. Love Wayside Cottage as it is chic and sweet.
