Positive: The hotel is quite new with a nice lobby space at the entrance and a place to have a beverage in the back. The staff seemed pleasant enough but we did not really interact with them much. The room was quite clean and plenty big enough for us. Bed was fairly comfortable. We chose the hotel because it is close to where our daughter is staying, but it is about a 10 minute walk to the train station (the one where the high speed train from Taipei comes in) and there is shopping around there. The breakfast was pretty good with enough variety, I thought.

Negative: There are details that could have been better. For example, there's a night stand next to the bed but no lighting above it or around it. The switch for the room lights were right by the front door or the far wall away from the night stands. Same with the desk. No light or switches there. The bathroom shower was not enclosed and the floor only an inch or so below the level of the toilet, which it was rather close to. The shower curtain was the only thing keeping water from getting all over the rest of the floor. The soap dispenser for the sink was one full step away from the sink. It would have been better right next to it. One had to go down the hall to get drinking water. They did not provide enough bottled water. These are small things but show the need for further attention to detail.

Positive: Decently close to the train station. Staff was friendly and allowed luggage storage.

Negative: It takes some getting used to the fact there is no sidewalk anywhere in the city. Room was a bit basic without many amenities or decor. It was clean though.

Positive: Ver friendly and helpful staff. Very close to HSR. The small nice details, like free milk tea and coffee in the lobby.

Negative: The lighting in the rooms was not very cozy (very bright and intense). Therefore It was hard to spend time in the room in the evening.
