Positive: Extremely comfortable bed, piping hot water, excellent food. This hotel is newly built and independently owned, fusing both local and Western influences. Management very open to suggestions for improvement as the business picks up speed - indeed they actively solicited them. Wish them every success!

Negative: Nothing I disliked - no issues other than normal ones for a very new hotel (eg unavailability of certain items on menu) that had already been identified and were being remedied by management.

Summary: Extremely comfortable stay in perfect location for push further up the Kaghan Valley, or local treks

Positive: We were fortunate to meet the owners of the resort upon arrival. Their passion for what they have achieved was truly inspiring, and the customer journey they provided was both insightful and engaging. The sustainability elements incorporated into the build are highly advanced for Pakistan, and the level of customer service was by far the best we experienced during our two week stay in the North of the country. The food was exceptional, and the attentiveness of both the owners and staff ensured that the resort stands out as a true luxury experience. Spending our last night in the country here, the comfort exceeded all expectations. Thank you for a memorable stay.

Positive: Loved Our Family Stay at Walnut Riverside Resort We had such a great time staying at Walnut Riverside Resort as a family. We were travelling with a teenager and little ones, and somehow both age groups were happy – which is always a win! The younger kids loved being outdoors, playing in the raw natural surroundings and getting to pat the local sheep (big highlight for them!). The older ones went off on hikes and adventures nearby, which they really enjoyed. Our teenager was especially happy thanks to the surprisingly good internet – a total lifesaver! And my husband was able to get some work done too, which meant we could relax without him stressing about being disconnected. I spent most of my time on the balcony, sipping tea and just soaking in the view of the river. It was so peaceful. The best part? I could keep an eye on the kids from up there, which made me feel totally at ease. The whole place felt really safe and private – perfect for families. Food-wise, the kids were content (which is saying something), and there was a good variety. The staff were super friendly and accommodating, always happy to help with anything we needed. And honestly – having hot water throughout our stay felt like a luxury! It’s rare in the northern areas, but here it was reliable and made such a difference. All in all, a beautiful, peaceful spot for a family break. Would definitely go back!
