Positive: Beautiful location. The views from the veranda are wonderful yet it is only a short distance from the town. There is no reception desk. Which feels odd at first but is consistent with the hotel creating a “home from home” feel where you can just walk from the lawns into the lounge. Both breakfast and dinner were superb experiences

Summary: Highly recommended. Feels like staying in a real home.

Positive: Was very private and even though there were others in the properly we felt like we had the whole villa to ourselves. It’s designed well

Negative: Breakfast was very normal. The bread was not toasted and crisp when we received it. Croissant didn’t taste good, felt like margarine or bad butter was used. Other than this we enjoyed the breakfast.

Positive: Beautiful hotel, and staff super friendly and accommodating. There is a heated pool, but it didn’t seem very inviting. Overall great stay.

Positive: We had a wonderful stay at W15 Lake Gregory, Nuwara Elia. Jim the manager and Shimal the head butler were brilliant and were ably supported by their whole team. Jim went over and beyond to help me access the nearby army camp (a school previously) and get into the Hill Club, which was closed, no access at all due to renovations. At both I was following up on family connections while in the area. Without Jim's help, I had no chance Shimal and team were brilliant keeping everything so clean, food was wonderful. Breakfast and tea in the garden overlooking the lake is a must We walked in to Eliya initially to get our bearings but then got tuktuk, arranged by Shimal or team. Even though we had some rainy moments, it was great fun

Negative: The main downside is the noisy fair that has set up further along the lake. It does blast out loud music early evening but it then dies down later. The whole staff apologised and said they were working with other local groups to quieten down or shut down. Good luck
