Your perfect casual-chic home base in the Hudson Valley! This 1830s home is just one block from the historic Rondout waterfront and minutes to the natural, cultural and historic wonders of the Hudson Valley. Newly renovated rooms with private baths marry history and modern design. Each of the four bedrooms features a curated mix of modern and vintage furniture, as well as beautifully appointed, private baths. The living room is spacious, with a large velvet couch, great chaise and deep leather armchairs. The dining room easily seats 12 people (with room for a few more). There is a lovely yard with bluestone patio and garden and a huge front porch. The house is just one block from the marina, shopping and great dining (lots of take out available!) in the Rondout area of Kingston and under 20 minutes to hiking and swimming in Woodstock, Rhinebeck, Bard College, Saugerties, High Falls and much more!
Main house can be rented with additional two bedroom suite and/or our event barn on site which holds 60 people with caterering available - perfect for a wedding, rehearsal dinner, brunch or private party! It also has an open queen bedroom for 2 in the loft and a full bathdown downstairs. Additional fees apply.

Summary: I stayed at The Forsyth over a weekend and was able to rent the whole house for our group of 12. I hosted a bachelorette weekend there and it ended up being the perfect place! The house was renovated beautifully and the decor was modern and tasteful. We loved that we were in short walking distance of the Kingston Waterfront area and only a short drive to Rhinebeck. Surpsingly, we ended up spending more time than expected within the house itself because we found ourselves so comfortable and relaxed; there were multiple entertaining spots that fit our size group perfectly and the morning that we were leaving we were able to enjoy breakfast outside in their back yard patio area. I would absolutely recommend this house and honestly couldn't have found a better option for entertaining for the weekend!

Summary: I organized a bachelorette party at The Forsyth. We opted to do a full buy-out of the property, which included everything we needed. It was so nice to not have to bring in linens/dishes/toiletries the way many home rentals work. The rooms were clean, renovated, and well-appointed. Tamara and her husband have a great eye for modern design that fuses beautifully with the rustic/historic location of the home. It was very comfortable, with every room spacious. The bride to be LOVED the house, including the beautiful soaking tub in the James room. This is a phenomenal location to have a bachelorette party -- there are wineries, restaurants, breweries, hiking, kayaking - all within 20 minutes. There was also Lyft which made it easy for us to get to the uptown area for a night out. We also spied the barn that they are currently renovating for weddings and I would imagine that if you were looking for an intimate wedding venue, The Forsyth would be perfect. Tamara is responsive and super helpful in curating a weekend. She recommended a wine tasting experience that the bride loved. We also opted to have her do a private dinner and brunch at the house and everyone raved about the food. She is a talented chef and she tailored the menu to foods the bride to be absolutely loves. Tamara also arranged for a private yoga class on the property, which was affordable and a great way to kick off the day. The Forsyth is an amazing place to have special events - and at an incredible value. For those who have planned Bach parties before, they can get super pricey between the drinks/activities/meals. Everything was perfect and so reasonably priced that we got to do a ton. Our only regret was we didn't have enough time to explore more of the adorable city of Kingston! I already want to go back to stay at the B&B for a personal trip. Thanks for a wonderful weekend!

Summary: My family and I had a wonderful stay at this property! The location was perfect and the house couldn't have been more charming and comfortable. Since we rented the entire house, we didn't get the breakfast that was raved about in reviews. We'll have to come back just for that!
