Negative: After a long drive, we arrived to no tea, coffee, milk - nothing! The accommodation, furnishings etc are dated and tired. It had a slightly ‘haunted’ feel. There was a lot of cobwebs.

Positive: Violet Cottage was spacious and comfortable, and so well equipped. There was a family bathroom downstairs, as well as a shower room, with WC, upstairs. The beds were really comfortable, as was the living room and dining room furniture. We were only there for two nights, as we were attending a wedding. However, I would love to have a return visit to explore the area further. Our hostess made us very welcome and provided everything we could possibly have needed. Many thanks for a lovely stay.

Negative: The 10am check out time was fine, as two of our party of 4 had a train to catch. However, I can imagine many occasions when an additional hour or two for check out would be very helpful.

Positive: I loved being in an old English cottage. It made our trip a little extra special. The kitchen & bathrooms were updated & fabulous. We especially loved the generous supply of towels.

Negative: The pillows were a little hard, and the mattress in the double was too soft. This could be personal preference though.

Summary: Wonderful & adorable cottage! Great kitchen, tons of towels and fast wifi!
