Positive: Had a brilliant stay at Villa Tropicana, hosts really helpful in providing information and taxi numbers, fridge was fully stocked on arrival with bottles of water, juice and cans of drink and just about every fruit you can think of plus ham and cheese etc it was welcomed after a long journey. The villa exceeded expectations has everything you will need and pool was great for the kids. Will definitely recommend to anyone

Positive: Villa Tropicana is a beautiful villa, very clean, well maintained and every comfort is provided. We were met by the host, Yannis when we arrived. Yannis is a gracious, charming and attentive host and always on hand to help (but never intrusive). The villa has many pluses, lots of space, very comfortable beds, plenty of thick fluffy towels, decent air con. When we arrived the fridge was very well stocked with lots of fruit, vegetables and juices, as well as basics like milk, bread and coffee. Because we have older sons this villa really worked well as it has a lovely salt water pool, table tennis table (with decent bats/balls!) and a basketball hoop (with ball), as well as a cross trainer and other bits of gym equipment which we made use of. The outside area is large with plenty of seating and a great cooking and bbq area. The outside area is definitely one of the top features of this villa. One of the evenings there Yannis' dad prepared and cooked for us an amazing meal on the bbq, honestly the best pork I have ever tasted!! Location wise the villa is situated off the road and above the house of the hosts. So it's nicely elevated though not on a steep hill as so many villas are. The villa is sandwiched between 2 beaches, the nearest one being Almyros which is a about a 4 minute walk away, from that beach you can walk into the bustling town of Agios Nilkolaos, the town is big and worth exploring as there is plenty to see down at the lake area and the marina. There is a bigger and very popular beach about 15 minutes drive away which is definitely worth a visit too. All in all, the location is great and I can't fault it, there's a lot to like. The best local tavernas for us were Basilico and Gioma Mezze, some of the tavernas are not so great and have quite generic menus, I was disappointed by the lack of traditional greek food.

Negative: The villa is near a road which is quite busy, although the villa is set well off the road you can sometimes hear a little road noise, not audible at night with the windows closed though. Personally I would have liked a mirror in the master bedroom!.
